Review: It's a First World Problem, but pity the poor reviewer who has to find something new to say about a Music For Dreams compilation: with Bager's label now in the game for well over 20 years, and with the 'Music For Mindfulness' series itself reaching its seventh instalment, you really should know what you're getting by now! Still, it's a formula that works - clearly, or they wouldn't be into their third decade - and if you're a fan of the label's mix of ambient, Balearic and downtempo vibes then 'Music For Mindfulness Vol 7' should more than satisfy, with some of the more notable tracks including the fragile beauty of Valentin Huedo's 'Wonderful Piano', Hess Is More's haunting, indie/psych-tinged 'You & Me & Them' and Willie Graff & Darren Eboli's dubby 'Pink Hotel'.

Review: Germany's Compost label mark 12 years of their Compost Disco sub-label with a nine-track compilation. If you're familiar with the mothership label you're probably not expecting mid-70s mirrorball/cowbell/Philly strings stompery here, which is just as well - instead you get nine tracks that explore disco's more electronic and/or leftfield fringes, from Manuel Tur's electro-tinged 'S6 Hansaring' to the languid Balearic soul of The Blaxploited Orchestra's 'Until The Day', via the early 80s overtones of Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca's 'The Compass Point' and the abstract synth workout that is Ron Deacon's 'Killer Song'. The proverbial "disco beards" will be delighted.
