East Of The River Nile - (3:34)
110 BPM Review: Komuso Roots is the name of a project by Koichi Sakai (Ghetto Lounge, Afrobeat Vibration) that's named after 18th century monks and sees him create melodica-led reworks of vintage dub. Revived sees all his recent works under this moniker collected together for the first time, including his popular cover of Augustus Pablo's 1977 classic "East of the River Nile". This clarinet-heavy version stays true to the original's floaty vibe whilst elsewhere "Ringo" fuses female Japanese vocals with mellow reggae. Other highlights include the upbeat sax jam "Dub I Can Feel" and the mournful Oriental melodies of "Satta Binghi".
