Review: It must be tricky being Dicky Trisco. We've lost count of the number of labels under his management, but it must be in double figures by now. Maxi Discs, one of his original imprints, has recently enjoyed something of a renaissance. "Discomagnifique" is arguably the label's best for a while. The title track bristles with piano-laden Balearic disco positivity, a feeling confirmed by the thrilling retro-house rework from Pete Herbert. Accompanying track "My House" is pretty tasty, too, delivering a late '80s groover that's propelled forwards by heavy synth bass and twinkling synths. Peter Herbert and Dicky Trisco remix, adding some touchy-feely deepness to proceedings.

Review: This latest audio missive from Glasgow's Maxi Discs label could certainly be described as Balearic. In its original form, "Glow Of Filter & Dub" flits between heavy, afro-influenced percussion sequences and moments of sunny, almost blissful electronic riffery. It's a combination that works brilliantly, ensuring that "Glow Of Filter & Dub" delivers both dancefloor thrills and sublime, eyes-closed moments. 6th Borough Project take the track even further towards eyes-closed Balearic deep house territory on their excellent rework, while Maxi Discs regular Dicky Trisco goes for a low-slung dub disco vibe on his no-nonsense take. It all adds up to one of Maxi Discs' strongest releases to date.

Review: London distributor, PR/DJ agency and all-round nice guys EPM celebrate 10 years in business with a compilation that features some of electronic music's most respected names. Italo veteran Alexander Robotnick delivers the tear-jerking melodies of "Running About", while Rob Hood, working as Floorplan, delivers the looped disco meets Chicago house jack of "Move It". There is austere techno courtesy of Mark Broom and James Ruskin on the restrained, bleepy minimal "Merz" and Sandwell District's dub meets chilling strings workout "Live in Berlin", while RadioNasty drops the woozy bass and elector breaks of "Radio 3". All these contributions display EPM's flawless underground credentials, while they may have a mainstream club hit on their hands in the shape of the shimmering strings, plaintive keys and Ibiza-friendly groove of Marius's "Jet Set".
