Review: We pity the fool who don't' dig the jams of this retro funk producer from Greece. Here he returns with a new record in a new year, but on an old label - Cold Busted. The album, The Return Of The Classic, boasts 12 new cuts to sink your teeth into, all of which cover the jazzy hip-hop that he's know for, highlights including the swaggering clavinet-lead bluesy funk of "Break My Back", the staccato breaky rock of "Put The Needle On" and the brassy tight funk of ""View From" and the title track's heavy wah-wah head nodding vibes.

The Heart Grows Fonder (feat Lucy Lune Gillespie) - (4:23) 100 BPM Hot
Gamma Rays - (5:34) 112 BPM
The Gospel Way - (4:11) 120 BPM
Funk Ground - (4:59) 125 BPM
Review: Mister T just don't give a damn. This mysterious and humorously quirky artist has been dominating our funk charts like a pro over the past few years, and this new EP for Timewarp is no different than his usual bag of quality tricks. Lucy Lune Gillespie features as the lead vocalist on the groovy little number named "The Heart Grows Fonder", which is followed by the boogie-tastic number "Gamma Rays". "The Gospel Way" is a soulful, marching breakbeat attack, while "Funk Ground" breaks out the funk breaks - guitar fuzz and all!

Retro Respect
Mister T - "Tonyish" - (3:44) 100 BPM Hot
Mental Playthings - (4:04) 50 BPM
Retro Respect - (3:20) 60 BPM

Blame It On Me - (3:02) 73 BPM
Get A Load Of You - (5:03) 60 BPM
Review: The Timewarp label are one of this outfits who care more for diversity than they do about specialising in one particular genre. Through artists like Afternoons In Stereo or Afroqben, they've established their place as a label who can offer something way beyond the dance floor format, and into the varied and imperceptible genre we refer to as 'nu-jazz'. Mister T & Lucy Lune Gillespie are pretty much first-timers to the scene, but their debut EP, Retro Respect, suggests these two have been producing some serious music for a while. These six tracks are both a pleasure to the ear, and offer something different with each new verse; "Mental Playthings", for instance, is stuck between jazz-dance and house, while "Retro Respect" itself is a funky, swingy little number the recalls the 50s jazz smoke, and "Blame It On Me" steps away with some tasty little breakbeats. Lovely.

Soulfood Fantasy
Soulfood Fantasy (feat Lucy Lune Gillespie) - (4:29) 110 BPM Hot
Soulfood Fantasy (instrumental) - (4:28) 110 BPM
Review: The 90s are back in a big way and Mister T is loving it! Here he presents some raw, sample-heavy tuneage, with "Soulfood Fantasy" being a melange of shuffley funk beats, brass samples and the blue-eyed soul vocals of Lucy 'Lune' Gillespie.

Rsn & Mister T - "Dig It" - (3:58) 95 BPM
Mister Vagz - "Love Me Venus" - (3:22) 128 BPM Hot
Review: It appears that lately, the Katakana label have opted to keep their Edits Series releases shorter and more frequent. Here, we get the 34th installment this time features tracks by two different talents: RSN & Mister T who deliver the funky party breaker "Son Of A Gun" and the retro soulful big beat of "Dig It". Elsewhere Mister Vagz appears with the cheeky beefed-up mash-up, "Love Me Venus" (a blend of The Doors, Shocking Blue and 90s drum breaks!).

Review: Here we have Timewarp Inc, the in-house production team at Athenian funk/nu-disco label Timewarp, and they've decided to delve into their mighty back catalogue and well, remix it. Hence, "The Remix Session Vol 1" - a collection boasting 14 prime cuts including the moodily hypnotic funk loops of "Anti Pop Song" by Ancient Astronauts, the forlorn Two Tone vibes of "Smile On Your Face" and the machine-like breaky funk goes synthy disco sizzler "Da Gypsy Groove" by Leon.

Take Me Away
Life Is Beautiful - (3:50) 89 BPM Hot
Let Your Voice Be Free - (3:46) 96 BPM
Take Me Away - (4:40) 95 BPM
Review: Back in 2013 Greek producer Mister T hooked up with half-Thai, half-Scottish nu-jazz singer Jean Honeymoon for the excellent The Secret. Well they've finally got round to repeating the magic and the result is Take Me Away. There are three tracks on the EP, all of which continue with the smooth, retro-lounge vibes previously explored. The title track and "Love Is Wonderful" adds some '90s jazzy hip-hop moods to the mix, whilst "Let Your Voice Be Free" revisits that so-close-you-can-almost-taste-it mythical bar by the beach in 1960s Rio.

Nova Planet Anniversary EP
Mister T - "Nova Style" - (5:17) Hot
LoopMaffia - "Happy Dayz" - (3:14)
Elpierro - "How I Feel" - (7:24)
Echolocation - "Super Nova" - (6:00)
Review: Digest Music is the label run by Mr Goju, whose Migrations Radio show beams the finest in nu-disco, modern funk, soul, swing and jazz from his base in Montenegro to every far flung corner of the earth. Here he compiles a new EP with Mr T delivering the tight piano, guitar and flute lockdown of "Nova Style", the jazzy and beguiling slo-mo R&B of Loop Maffia's "Happy Daze", the deep synth-washed heaven of Elpierro's "How I Feel" and the laid back electro funk jam "Super Nova" by Echolocation. A hazy, lazy joy of a listen.

The Secret - (3:55) 95 BPM
The Things You Do - (3:41) 103 BPM
With You - (4:34) 108 BPM
The Secret (Club Des Belugas remix) - (4:06) 99 BPM Hot
Review: This single is Greek producer Mister T's first release since long player Play It Loud, and he's still on fine form. Teaming up with seductive chanteuse Jean Honeymoon for three deliciously retro outings, "The Secret" leads the pack coming across as an early '60s Euro spy affair complete with mambo percussion and James Bond brass section. Further in "The Things You Do" swaps brass for Brubeck-style jazz, man. Lastly "With You" goes all shimmering Brazilian house on us, and we're not complaining!
