Review: Two's company and three's a crowd, or so they say. Not so with this outfit as Dementia, Rregula and Cain Mos team up here for some seriously nasty D&B on Fokuz, executed with extreme mastery. After the most dramatic of intros, "Imprint" falls into the drop with some force, all turbo charged bass, purposeful synth builds and energy abounding from every beat. "Silverfox" continues the story, with a slightly more melodic approach, bringing in a cheeky tunefulness and a guitar riff playing underneath to create a rock-y edge. Well worth checking out if you like your D&B full of energy.
Review: If you like your D&B fast and furious with overtones of skullstep, psy trance and the Therapy crew then Rregula might just be up your street. Here he brings us The Barramundi Experiment on Climate; a relentless six-track EP, this is only for the bravest bass soldiers. "Sky Monkey" is a punishing bass work out, continued in the driving beats of "Junk Trunk" and the tripped out soundscape of "Eyes Turn White". The journey continues in "Blue Screen Scream" with pedal to the metal energy and incessant, pattering drums; "Torn 2 (feat Mastermynd)" is all blaring bass and turbo charged drum work, and then "Reptile Dance (feat NME Click)" draws things to an almighty end.
Review: It might take its name from an Asian seabass, but there's nothing fishy about this mighty four-track EP. Robust riffs, steel-plated sound manipulation and precision rhythm rides throughout - from the triplet-style drumstep pattern and wild screams of the lead track to the mesmerising robo-chops and rusted mechanical heartbeat of "Zonk". Elsewhere, "Divide By Squid" acts as a neurotic statement of intent that fans of Ed Rush & Optical will enjoy while the battering-ram style "Bunyip" finishes the package with a riot-style sonic battle cry. Each cut a fine dish of the day, skip on starters and tuck in!
