Review: Over the last few years, disco and boogie loving funkateer Shaka Loves You has proved to be one of the most reliable artists on Bomb Strikes. Further proof arrives in the shape of "Tonight", a two-track single that's as summery as rain-soaked festivals, abandoned backyard barbeques and post-work beer garden drinking sessions. Vocalist Amunda stars on "Tonight", a unique blend of R&B, synth-driven reggae and Balearic boogie that has all the makings of a smile-inducing radio hit. If it's heavy dancefloor thrills you're after, virtual B-side "Disco Weapon" will do the trick; its' low-slung bassline, razor sharp horns, fizzing synth lines and rousing horns are tailor-made to guarantee dancefloor devastation.

Review: Words says it was during a casual hangout at Pikes that the idea for "Tonight" was born. Fast forward, and Athens of the North's resident ensemble, East Coast Love Affair, known as the 'house band,' welcomed the addition of the soulfully talented vocalist Theo Suess for their latest release. Departing from their previous disco-funk sound, "Tonight" takes a different musical journey, blending skittish lo-fi beats, immersive chords, and a lively synth-bass. Hovering between deep house and lo-fi boogie, this track is a genuine gem, featuring Suess's emotive lead vocal. Then the original gets a fantastic twist with a dub mix with fragments of Suess's vocals echoing through a captivating, love-infused instrumental backdrop.

Review: The KDMS (aka Kathy Diamond and Maximilian Skiba, geddit?) return to the Gomma imprint with this little gem of a single boasting remixes from King Of Kong and Box Codax. The original version of "Tonight" features Diamond's dulcet tones cooing over some vintage boogie-disco flex - the strings in particular are quite enchanting. Wisely the instrumental version doesn't dispense with the vocals totally, just strips them back a bit, while the King Of Kong remix beefs up the bottom end considerably and Box Codax offers a fun interpretation full of noodling synths.

Review: Morgan Geist's remixes usually hit the spot, and they're a surefire way to prick our attention. Here, he offers similar vocal and instrumental takes of The KDMS's "Tonight", a chunky, string-laden nu-disco effort that sounds like a European take on Escort at their most electronic. MG's mixes bring out the synth-pop elements of the original, successfully layering up vintage synths, analogue basslines and just the right amount of disco guitar. They're more "Double Night Time" than "Muira" or "Look Right Through", but that's no bad thing. Felix Martin also remixes, delivering a straight-up nu-disco workout that should appeal to synth-inclined house DJs.
