Review: As a true veteran of dubstep's original age and as an important figurehead from the A&R side of things, DJ Squarewave returns to New World Audio for a super-creative album project, exploring everything from classic LFO-lead dubstep flavours to a couple of sneaky dubwise delights. The variation in style across the project is exceptional, from the clunky, atmospheric rhythms of 'Bossman' and trip-hop style drum crunches of 'Projects', to the dubbed out vibes of the title track 'False Gods' and eerie bass pressure of 'Who Are Ya'. It's a pretty exceptional thirteen track selection, with our favourites including the smooth horn melodies and charming piano-lines of 'Carson City', along with the super crunchy percussive inputs of 'Green Patch'. What a fantastic selection it is!
