Review: Overview are without a doubt one of the biggest success stories of recent years and 2020 has proved to be their biggest yet, with a slew of fantastic releases across their roster of artists. Pretty much that entire crew is represented here and the tracks cover their 2 year history, from early tunes like breakout hit 'Around Me' to brand spanking new cuts like 'Framed' by Klinical and Waeys. Waeys has been an important part of the Overview story and his tune 'Who You Are' with Hadley was one of the first steps in that journey, a ridiculously dirty techy roller with an infectious bounce and a progression that will certainly get your gurn on. A spectacular album.

Review: One of the most consistent, respected and forward-thinking labels on the techier, future-focused side of drum & bass, Overview Music hit the third volume of their VA series Zone and once again it's loaded with some of the most exciting and talented names in the D&B game. ABLE, Felov, Rekek, Minor Forms, Spektiv, Notequal, Yatuza, Headroom and so many more artists all deliver their most futuristic pieces to this collection, mapping out the next few years of drum & bass in the process. Each cut is a highlight but Tweakz and Teej's hyper-tense 'Involved' and Headroom's bulldozer-like 'Gambol' are particularly spicy takes. Essential for all D&B heads.

Review: Man of the moment Creatures returns to Overview for his first full release for the label: 'Gonzo Transmission'. A full flavoured collabo fest with some of his most exciting new-gen peers, it's a five-track feast that transmits in all directions. Highlights include the grizzling 'Who Knows' with Hadley, the slinky stripped-back 'Chironex' and the absolute juggernaut that is 'Grump' with Volatile Cycle. All this plus collabs with Joe Raygun and Wingz, this is one of Creatures' biggest releases to date!

Review: One of the several young talents that have been inculcated by Overview Music, Waeys is a Dutch producer who moved over from the world of halftime and beats to drum & bass and bloody hell, is he good at it. Objection is a blend of jumpy, foghorn sounds with tighter, more minimal tones and it's a combination he has apparently mastered. There are jumpy dance inclinations on the title tune and 'Ultimatum', whilst 'Mapper' takes a foreboding but simple bassline and intersperses it with tugs and pulls of foghorn wizardry. The overall result is club-friendly, superbly well engineered and incredibly moreish. More to come, we hope.

Review: Following releases on the likes of Dispatch, Flexout, Vandal and Shogun, Sustance lands on Overview with this ravishing five-piece collection. Adding to the ever on-point signature of the young UK label, each cut is slippery, stripped back and primed for butt-wriggling. Highlights include the playfully titled "Squirt" (watch out for that sudden gnarly switch on the bass midway), the fluctuating subs and bold percussion splashes on "Temperance" and that restrained high voltage electric menace on "Shame". Review: Following his key releases on Dispatch, hotly-tipped new-gen talent Talkre returns to the equally hotly-tipped Overview with four premium heaters for the colder months. "Simple Things" sets the scene with its slippery bassline, neck-slice break and minimal murkery. Dig deeper for the heavenly pads and curmudgeonly bassline of "Knowing", the shadowy harmonics and late night graveyard funk of "Sentry" and the much more direct "Into Darkness" where the bassline sizzles with pure electricity. All razor-sharp and future-focused, it's time to stop talking and start listening... To Talkre.

Review: The newly minted Overview Music is on an absolute roll at the moment, having released a string of bangers by Klinical and others. This time it's the turn of Waeys, another brand-new producer scouted by the king of A&R that is Overview head honcho Peter Maxted and blimey, we can see why they've roped him in. 'Ropple' is our favourite of the bunch, with an eerie landscape of basses and synths that subtly come together to form a minimal roller with precise levels of force and direction. 'Pressure' is the other highlight, with a sweeping back end of futuristic proportions - shouts to Skantia for the remix as well.

Review: Overview Music are a recently minted label who seem to be doing all the right things, including getting one of their tracks up to he number one spot on Beatport (shoutout to Klinical). Ewol is their next artist and his three-track Diverge EP is dark, even by Overview's relatively high standards. The title track is as foreboding as they come, almost to the extent that it's not quite dancefloor material, it's too brooding, too deeply terrifying and too fixated on being something itself, rather than making you dance. 'Blood Diamond' continues in that vein but steps up the synths a tad, whilst 'Revenants' reminds us of the recent Hyroglifics EP, with its rustic percussion but deep bassline. Quality.
