Review: Rinse FM favourite A Motion is back delivering a unique, forward-looking fusion of classic speed garage and two-step. The You Know EP features four new bangers in this ilk, all peppered with further sonic elements. The spartan title-track mixes melodic wobble bass and floaty female vocals, "Close Your Eyes" features mean bass growls under hypnotic vocals melodies, "Locked" introduces spacey rave pads and "What You Do" integrates '90s house organs with raw tw-step friskiness. Review: The DPM label may only be two releases deep, but they know how to spot a killer track. "Chills", the latest "garage 2.0" slammer from A. Motion, has received regular plays on Rinse FM over the last six months following Royal T's decision to champion it earlier in the year. Despite the title, it's actually a rather warming concoction, with toasty organ stabs and a sturdy rhythm that sits somewhere between two-step and classic speed garage providing the main talking points. A thunderous sub bassline, choice vocal samples and UK Funky-style melodies complete a heavy, floor-friendly workout. Moony remixes, turning the sprightly, light-footed original into a surging chunk of revivalist speed garage.
