Review: To mark the 25th anniversary of Tony De Vit's untimely passing, Tidy Trax has commissioned a series of remixes of his classic tracks. This fourth edition features a remix of "To The Limit" by Alan Fitzpatrick. In some ways, Fitzpatrick is the spiritual heir to the iconic hard house DJ - and this reshape demonstrates why that is the case. The drums are tough and the claps dense, with Fitzpatrick effortlessly managing to meld these elements with soulful vocals and buzzing synths. ABSOLUTE goes in a different direction for his version of "I Don't Care". Led by a rolling rhythm and rasping percussion, the rave stabs come crashing in, another fitting tribute to De Vit's legacy.

Review: Over the last 15 years, few producers have released quite as much high-quality dancefloor fare as Alan Fitzpatrick. Somewhat predictably, his latest EP - a label debut for Bristol-based imprint Shall Not Fade - is another must-check missive. He's scored something of a coup, too, by recruiting Chicago 'ghetto-dance' legend DJ Deeon to add his evocative spoken word vocals to 'Shake That Thing', a deliciously spacey chunk of analogue house brilliance whose evocative chords and restless rhythm track will bring joy to many dancefloors this summer. Rising star DJOKO remixes, doffing a cap to the early 2000s work of UK tech-house stalwarts Swag on a deliciously swinging, loose-limbed rub. Fitzpatrick then delivers a bouncy, life-affirming chunk of disco-house hedonism, 'Learning to Love', which is pure pleasure from start to finish.

Review: Alan Fitzpatrick is a busy man, and Immortal Daydream follows a flurry of releases on Drumcode, Hotflush and most recently, Rekids itself. This four-tracker sees the UK producer do what he's best at and delivers impactful club techno. "Everlasting" is shot through with dramatic stabs and underpinned by steely thunder claps, making for a powerful dance floor track. "Titan" also sees Fitzpatrick deploy musical elements - on this occasion it's a repetitive organ riff over a combination of relentless kicks and driving hi-hats - while "Droid Disco" marks a departure in style, with Fitzpatrick going deeper to deliver a seductive cacophony of tonal frequencies over a dubbed out groove."The Underdog" presents a further surprise, as the We Are The Brave boss deploys rich chords and crashing snares to deliver his own take on Detroit techno.

Review: Fresh from delivering a booming EP of warehouse-ready techno on Rekids, Alan Fitzpatrick pops up on Unknown To The Unknown with another quartet of sleazy slammers and speaker-bothering stompers. Fitzpatrick makes his intentions clear via the fast-paced drums, relentless ride cymbals, growling electronics and fizzing stabs of "The Hole", before doffing a cap to the nastiest Belgian techno of the early '90s on rave-melting banger "Raid". Acid fiends should check the razor sharp TB-303 lines, ricocheting drum machine handclaps and booming beats of "KD6-3", while "Awkward Desire" is a deeper and groovier affair built around swinging drums, dreamy chords and lilting lead lines.

Review: Alan Fitzpatrick has said that the title of his latest release 'represents a significant change in my life and reminds me to focus on new beginnings', but regardless of this background, his new EP is a no-nonsense floor filler. "11:11" is built on lead-weight percussion and a searing bass, as muffled vocals insinuate their way through the arrangement. In a similar vein, "Stand Up" resounds to a robust rhythm track before a euphoric bass kicks in. Although "Ego" is also powered by firing percussion, it moves into a dreamy, filtered build. Maybe Fitzpatrick is in the middle of a spiritual awakening, but he hasn't lost touch with the dance floor.

Review: One of the most unexpected transformations of the past year has been big-room techno and Drumcode favourite Alan Fitzpatrick's shift towards more subtle sounds. First came an impressive EP for Aubrey's Mosaic and now Tribe. The title track sees Fitzpatrick drop the kind of expansive, shimmering keys that one would expect to hear on an Innervisions record, but the UK producer still maintains a pumping groove. Trus'Me has been commissioned to do a remix and although it sounds strange, his take is tougher and more rolling, powered by punchy drums. The Chip Jacks version, with its stepping rhythm, completes this unexpected release.

Review: Don't worry if you weren't able to get to hear veteran DJ and Bedrock co-founder John Digweed's recent set at Treehouse in Miami's South Beach, because its all here for you to enjoy. There are a whopping 41 tracks included, spread over three mixes and also provided in their individual form including such gems as Agoria's moody synth-drenched reworking of Damian Lazarus' "Vermillion", the fuzzy Fairlight fancy of Solaris Heights's "Nightfall" and Digitaria's Art Of Noise-style electro jam "Little Boy".

Review: For a producer who has released on a label like Drumcode and who is synonymous with big-room, white noise-saturated techno, Falling Down comes as a surprise. It shows a far deeper side to the amiable Fitzpatrick's canon, and it also suggests that he's just as adept as making melodic dance floor grooves. The title track starts off with stuttering, rattling percussion before trailing off into an evocative, melodic build-up. "Vanishing" is even more impressive; over sweet strings and chords, Fitzpatrick drops the kind of dreamy vocal snatch that you might expect to hear in one of Legowelt's more mellow tracks. Auden's remix of the same track is slower and heavier, but doesn't sacrifice Fitzpatrick's melodies.

Review: Mark Knight's label brings together some of the sounds that were showcased over the course of the ADE. Basement Jaxx kick start the compilation with the stomping disco house of "Never Say Never", while Harry Romero shows that he's not just a US house head. Working with Doorly, he drops "The Truth", a tough techno track, led by heavy claps. The techno influence lingers on Maceo Plex's "Conjure Superstar", which features an unusual combination of rave sirens and sublime, 808 State-style synths. As is the case in the wider electronic world, this reinvention of the past is in abundance on Amsterdam 2014 and apart from Plex's track, the most impressive contribution is Dosem's "Chase the Link", which sounds like a particularly dark version of vintage Lil Louis.

Review: DSCi4 present the sixth release in their Spy Technologies sampler series, featuring the talents of Mindscape and Mr Foul. Mindscape's "Flashback" on the A-Side delivers some meaty old-skool action, with some satisfying low end going hand in hand with light melodic touches and cowbell percussion, while Mr Foul's "Land Of Look Behind" is a more sinister number, filled with terrifying ambience and a deep bass growl. Highly recommended.
