Review: The fifth instalment of the Raw Grooves compilation includes a range of house styles. Alvaro AM's "Pay For The Acid" is a rolling percussive affair imbued with searing acid lines; while the tribal sound is covered on Bassel Darwish's "Point In Time". Volume 5 also makes reference to resurgent minimal house courtesy of Carloh's pared back "Tchutchuca". There are also echoes of old school tech-house on the pulsating bass and dubbed out drums of Marcellus' "Roll The Dice". Rounding off the compilation, Ramin Rezaie pays tribute to Chicago on the swinging groove and woozy chords of "Days Off".

Review: 2019 marks a landmark celebration in Saved Records history, as they call upon artists far and wide to commemorate their 15th birthday and 200th release. Nic Fanciulli's label has always stood as a benchmark for quality, whilst nurturing new talent and pushing the envelope as one of the most recognisable labels in dance music. An essential compilation for both dedicated label fans and newcomers alike, they present a compilation of all new exclusive material by a collection of the label's favourite DJs and producers. The ever reliable Dutchman Franky Rizardo delivers the entrancing "Air", rising Italian Alex Kennon delivers the tough rolling main room funk of "Who Cares", while Israeli veteran Gel Abril aims straight ahead with his direct groove "Entra" and the UK's own Denney & James Dexter deliver some dirty minimal tech house for the after hour on "C'mon" - among many more.

Review: More tough rolling tech-house for the main room at peak time, courtesy of the ever reliable Saved Records. On Collection G they get straight down to business: there was no fancy press release for this one - just straight up groove business that speaks for itself and just in time for Spring - and the commencement of the festival season! Highlights come courtesy of: Torontonian legend and Rawthentic boss Carlo Lio on the fierce banger "Hear This", ascendant Brit Denney getting slinky and hypnotic on the tight groove of "Mind Control", right through to American Anthony Attala's headrush inducing "Cypress (featuring the biggest drop you'll hear this year!) and promising stuff by former NBA basketballer Rony Seikaly ("Groove It") and Calabrian upstarts ItaloBros on "Blaston".

Sound Pump
Sound Pump - (6:26) 126 BPM Hot
It's Like Before - (6:19) 124 BPM
Review: Ecuador's Carloh made a smashing debut last year with a release on Loco Dice's Desolat imprint and returns with his sophomore effort (in equally impressive fashion) for Jamie Jones' label: Hot Creations. The tough stomp of "Sound Pump" is fuelled by the signature bounce of the TR-808, jacked vocals and Plastikman style snare attacks. Second offering "It's Like Before" is definitely more a change of pace, going deeper with its hypnotic melody, boompty bass and diva vocals.

Carloh & Claudia Trujillo - "Recalling The Paradise" - (7:05) 124 BPM
Review: The 57th release from Loco Dice's esteemed Desolat imprint comes from Ecuadorian talent Carloh. He is said to be influenced greatly by the musical styles of South America: his uncle and his father who were also DJs. After several trip to Europe where he experienced a thriving club culture first hand, he came back inspired and with a burning desire to produce. Fusing pre-Columbian musical instruments of Ecuador, he also throws hip hop, Andean music and house into the mix: which all come together in great harmony on the Selva Magica EP. It was made using bare elements: a MIDI keyboard, TR900 and old cassette and vinyl samples culled from his father's music collection. Highlights like "On The Way" that have that rolling, main room at peak time vibe that's sure to be a hit on The White Isle this Summer, as will the epic acid techno odyssey "Dancing Crazy" which will the kids peeking in no time! Homegirl Claudia Trujillo then joins the party to co-produce two tracks, in particular the druggy and tunnelling hypnotism of "Recalling The Paradise".
