Review: Founded at the tail end of 2014, Thousand was set up by a group of Brazilian DJs and producers to showcase their particular take on deep and tech house. This first, expansive EP offers a taste of things to come, and features six tracks from the crew. There's plenty of variety on show, from the smooth deepness and minor key chords of Marcelo V O R's "Right Things", and Tapesh and Lucas Arr's pulsating tech-house banger "Detroit 82" (look out for the sly wink to Jaydee's "Plastic Dreams"), to the bompty-influenced after-party bounce of Dunky Daniels' "Space Bike". Arguably best of all, though, is Alex Justino's "Black Hole", a shimmering, melodious concoction that sits somewhere between spacey deep house and shuffling nu-disco.
