Review: Over the years we have seen a number of stars born out of the GS Dubs imprint, the sister label to Garage Shared and a home to many of the brightest new garage names. They have decided to celebrate their fourth year of activity with a truly sumptuous collection, featuring 40 of their most beloved drops over the years. With a track list that features top names such as DJ Jackum, Clarcq, Purple Velvet Curtains, Soulecta, Gemi, Tuff Culture and more, this is a garage DJ's dream supply pack, with the sounds ranging from rampant 4x4 to wiley 2-step originals. As far as compilations go, this is a great example of how to balance the old with the new, with the GS Dubs mantra being to constantly push both types of talent forward with the same energy and expectation, making them a truly wonderful imprint.

Review: There is no doubting the majesty of Garage Shared as an overarching titan of the new school UKG world, with their label operations being among the best in the game right now, a theme amplified and proven further by the pure magnificence of this here compilation. Being the fourth in their self-titled series, they have once again pulled together a seriously vibrant collection of artists from their ranks, unleashing a collection of 30 outstanding garage originals. The cast of this incredible performance is nothing but quality, with the likes of Soulecta, Tuff Culture, WZA, Smokey Bubblin; B, DJ Jackum, Gemi, FooR, DJQ and more all lending their hand. It's such a great way to celebrate the success of the label over the last 3 years, whilst also applauding the garage community as a whole.

Review: December is of course the time of year where every label starts to unleash their final compilation drop of the year, with the Garage Shared crew being actively hailed as one of the country's most valuable UKG platforms. This is reflected in their 2021 catalogue which is explored in great detail across this new compilation, with the likes of Gemi, Tuff Culture, Soulecta, FooR, Bar Li, Oh My Daze, Deja, Smokey Bubblin' B and many more top names all landing killer originals. The full selection features 23 of the label's most popular drops for the year, with some of our particular favourites including the niche-inspired LFO pulses and scattered drum slides of MKJAY's 'Recess', next to the big room chord progressions of WZA's 'Over Me, Over You' and the singalong flavours of Blakk Habit and Gid Swedgewick's sumptuous 'Solid Plan'. Awesome stuff as per!

Review: As always when the GS Dubs team get into town, we are in for a treat, as they this time invite the constantly evolving sounds of Gemi to the table to deliver one hell of a two-tracker. First up, we take in the super vibrant sounds of 'Hunnit', which, as with all of Gemi's best creations, finds that perfect balance between nostalgic bliss and new-school class, fusing high-pitched vocal slices with uber-groovy melodic design. On the flip-side to this, 'Pointers' continues down a similar path, with that perfect level of fusion between old and new. This one is rippling with colourful percussive additions and smooth low ends to add some real groove to the dance.

Review: Well, when we saw this title land in the store we were as surprised as anyone to see that Four40 Records, one of the most active and exciting UK bass labels across the full breadth of 2020 has just turned 10 years old. This is a pretty outstanding achievement, for a label that is still at the forefront of it's sound to this very day. The compilation of course features some of the biggest releases from across the breadth of Four40's incredible catalogue of content, from the likes of Hybrid Theory, I Killed Kenny, Pavv, Limita and more, condensing ten years of musical progression into one extended tape. We also get to hear a bag of exciting new exclusives from the newer breed of the Four40 roster, including music from The Phat Controlla, Blakk Habit, Lucas Maverick, Gemi, Badger, Patrick Kane, Yozhi, George IV and more. What an incredible way to round off the year!

Review: As always with Kiwi Rekords, we knew we were in for a good time as soon as the logo appeared in the store, with this most recent release seeing them welcome to incredibly vibrant sounds of Gemi in for two tracks of stunning garage flavour. We begin with the slamming drum shuffles and moogy bass licks of 'Buggin', a stripped back dance destroyer with a slightly more heavy-tone than we would normally expect from a Kiwi drop. On the flip-side to this, we are gifted 'Together', a warbling stomper, fusing together delicate vocal slices with wobbling bass tones and enigmatic chord procedures, giving us a total of two absolute scorchers. Lovely stuff!
