Review: Kevlar Beas release some of the best compilations around, partly because they have a large contingent of affiliated artists to draw upon but mostly just because the curation team over there is top-notch. The aptly named Strength in Numbers features a load of acs from Quaa Rush to DJ Direkt, the former of which is responsible for 'Vecran', which packs a great, old-school and funky drum line and bouncy, soulful bass nodes which warp and wobble through a really cool arrangement. Danny Anger nails it with the soul-infused jungle vibes of 'Tallies Side Step', and this release in general combines loads of different pallettes to great effect. Fantastic.

Review: For this release we were very happy to see Link put together a firecracker bass two tracker, complete with a selection of high profile remixes to round off a really powerful release. The first original is called 'Void' and is a haunting two steppy madness jam packed with catchy syncopated bass lines, whilst 'Voices' is almost like the 4x4 evolution. On remix duty, Aaron K steps up on a tearout flex, whilst Context brings a more mellowed funky edit and Hutchison delivers a synth heavy revamp.

Review: Bully Beatz is back and he's here to make you suffer... Pounding out four bruising riff-heavy workouts on the radar-ready (and rising) Mutated Resonance imprint, the result is a case of complete mosh meltdown. "Hunted" leads with a groggy, swampy bassline. "Brain Damage" takes a hammer to drive its bouncy message while "Suffering" gets more twisted and brittle with its electrified distorted bassline. Saving the best till last, "I Know Kung Fu" ignites with a classic early 90s techno style intro before switching into a total roundhouse bassline that guarantees KOs each and indeed every. You gonna bark all day little doggies?

Review: Portuguese expat turned Munich machine Alkalino is back with another bomb for his relentless Audaz imprint. "Gorgol" is a smooth and dreamy deep house excursion with samples from the B-52s classic "Love Shack". Next up is Link with "Da-me Uma Chance (Ze Mig L Chi - House remix)" and it's something a bit different from the Audaz camp on this gutsy EBM flavoured techno chugger for the peak time.

Review: Adding the heat of South America to their tunes certainly makes Link and Natural Philosophy stand out from the crowd. As the world gets heavier, deeper and darker, this Canadian/Midlands duo have taken it upon themselves to create soulful, intelligent tunes with a nod to the dancefloor. The gem of this release has to be the sparkling "Vihuela"; a stop-start beginning that gives way to a slick, rolling tune with all the hallmarks of a great, unforgettable liquid track. It's nice to have some optimism around, especially during the darker months, so say yes to guitar-led, summer-tinged D&B.
