Review: Running Back's popular multi-artist series returns. As with its predecessors, EP six boasts a wealth of previously unreleased treats from label regulars and hand-picked guests. The EP begins with a deliciously colourful piano house explosion courtesy of Llewellyn ('For The Weekend') and ends with the tactile, mid-80s, Pet Shop Boys-esque instrumental synth-pop excellence of Senor Chugger and Count Van Delicious's amusingly titled 'Micket's Vegan Fillet'; in between, you'll find some dark, driving and percussive sweatiness (the rave-igniting 'Radius' by Ede), a dash of EBM-goes-electroclash (Zillas on Acid's 'Pleatherhead'), a spot of Latin freestyle-meets-proto-house fun (Stereocalypse's 'Mad Theory') and a storming, hard-to-pigeonhole chunk of retro-futurism by Storken and Hammer ('Marabou').

Review: Get yourself acquainted with Llewellyn, the production alias of Martin Enke who's solo pursuits and Lake People collaboration can be found already on labels like Uncanny Valley, Kann Records, Permanent Vacation, Mule Musiq - and as Llewellyn on Riotvan. Recapture The Past elevates the project's profile through its release on Live At Robert Johnson that brings a synth saturated, '80s, Moroder-esque and discofied night driving sound to the Frankfurt label. Get your rock snares and arpeggiated basslines outta "The Final Essence" - our highlight - next to some proto-type happy house in "Recapture The Past". "Philly C Inside" offers a melodic and percussion heavy combination of stunts with "Simshit" flirting with computer games sounds and Cruisin' USA soundtracks.

One Swallow Doesn't Make A Summer (Part 2)
Llewellyn - "Synergy Bar" - (7:08) 122 BPM Hot
Yogtze - "Please Hold The Line" (Fred Asquith remix) - (6:39) 135 BPM
John Noseda - "Spiral Galaxy" - (6:44) 120 BPM
Lipelis, AC - "Central Store" - (6:14) 120 BPM
Review: Running Back bring us four despatches from disco's more experimental fringes. The EP opens straightforwardly enough with Llewellyn's 'Synergy Bar', a lively, throbbing houser with hints of both disco and prog in equal measure, not to mention a distinctive fluttering topline. But Yogtze's pacy, EBM-ish 'Please Hold The Line' soon takes us into somewhat more leftfield territory, before John Noseda gives us 'Spiral Galaxy' - think John Carpenter trying his hand at Italo-disco. Lipelis X AC then close out the EP with 'Central Store', another Euro-inspired cut beamed straight in from around 1983 or so.

The Other Side Of You
The Long Run - (7:44) 125 BPM Hot
Again & Again - (6:44) 124 BPM
The Other Side Of You - (6:44) 124 BPM
Review: It's been a while since Llewellyn's last official release under that particular alias, but it's possible that you might have heard a thing or two under his Lake People moniker instead. Whatever the medium, the dude is back with his singular shade of house, this time via the Riotvan label. "The Long Run" starts by launching us in a cosmic space voyage guided by a warm crescendo of disco-friendly beats at the helm; "Again & Again" retains some of that interstellar energy except that here we're travelling in house gear, much like closing "Another Side Of You". Dreamy dance galore!
