Review: Odyssey: Let The Journey Begin is a new various artists EP that showcases the lush Odyssey sound with new music from Atlanta-based Modd (All Day I Dream / Anjunadeep) who serves up the ethereal Sunday afternoon rooftop vibe of "Gambit", Saint Petersburg's Dibidabo going for a deeply meditative mood on the Afro house influenced "Higher", rising producer from London Urmet K delivers the most sensual sounding deep house cut on here titled "Secrets Of Your Heart" (feat Shawni) and Turkey's Cagdas Dumlupinar delves deep into the exotic on closing track "Lionisa" in the tradition of the classic Innervisions style.
Review: A sampler collection here from All Day I Dream, the label set up in 2011 by Lee Burridge and Matthew Dekay to explore "beautiful, emotional and melancholic shades of house and techno". What you get are 13 tracks coming from that part of the spectrum where deep house and ambient collide, with just a hint of prog and the very deepest trance in the mix too - tracks that will be equally at home in the warm-up, on weary 6am floors or chillin' on the sofa. Standouts include Fulltone's 'A Whole Lot Of Winters', one of collection's more overtly floor-friendly cuts, and Hermanez's deceptively funky 'Ensina'.
Review: Alongside the likes of yourself, you can bet that Mark Knight & Co. will be also be a known presence at Amsterdam Dance Event in 2018 and indeed they'll be well prepared with the appropriate tools - as this killer compilation proves. Highlights on this annual edition come from Maceo Plex - whose remix of "Nervous Tics" (feat Holly Walker) by hot British duo Maribou State takes you to the dark side, label chief Knight's massive rework of Sterling Void's eternal anthem "It's Alright" (feat Paris Brightledge) will surely get the hands in the air, as will Adesse Versions' edit of legend Kerri Chandler's "The Boom Can" and many others over the collection's five dozen tracks. To take you through every part of your trip, the album comes complete with three perfectly crafted and perfectly primed mixes.
