Review: Flexing from his more familiar 170 neighbourhood to a very comfortable 135 breakbeat dynamic, Pixel makes his Sub Element debut with "Own God". Rolling with buckets of bass and nuances of heady psy elements, it's a refreshing take on breaks that will find favour across all corners of the scene. Remix-wise Isolate slaps down a heavyweight 4/4 tech twist while Alt A injects some classic wholesome funk, acid and a heavenly synth breakdown into the mix. All bass bases covered.
Review: 15 years. Has it really been 15 years since Focuz became part of all our lives? To celebrate, some of D&B's finest have come out to play, offering up slices of pure gold as their presents to us all. Kicking off with Lenzman's beautiful remix of Command Strange's "Rock Steady", legendary producer BCee also joins the party along with Scott Allen, Lynx, Enei, intelligent Manners, Malaky, and newcomers Soligen and Type-2 and many more, creating a very special celebratory get together indeed.
Review: Two of Soul Deep's most recent golden finds return to the label's Exclusive sister label with a dazzling collaborative effort. Beginning with the soulful sounds of "In Your Arms Again", the pair head for the sun with all the sizzling heat of a Brazilian classic distilled into swelling strings and woozy atmosphere. "Fell In Love On The Seafront" is a complete contrast. Bursting in with zesty xylophone melody and chirpy walking bass it's a big rolling delight perfect for summer evening parties. "DMT" then changes the mood yet again in a minor key for a darker, dreamier stepper. Three totally different tunes from two amazing artists.
