Review: Glasgow's brilliantly named Invisible Inc label describe themselves as "a home for music from the periphery". Accordingly, if you've come here looking for good-time disco grooves in true 70s style, you're going to be disappointed by this album. If, on the other hand, you have an interest in exploring electronic music's outer, lower-tempo fringes - if you dig extended synth workouts that blur the lines between cosmic disco and full-on ambience, drifty Balearic jams, slo-mo headnoddin' grooves, that kind of thing - then you'll find much to enjoy here, with Natural Sugars' 'Riddurum Invaders' standing out for this writer.

Review: Invisible Inc bring us a compilation packing 13 cuts from as many artists - mostly new names, though the legendary Tim 'Love' Lee does make an appearance. Obviously with that many artists involved there's a fair degree of stylistic variety, but overall what you get here is a quirky mix of straight-up Italo/cosmic vibes (see Higamos Hogamos's opener 'Mini Pops'), lounge-y kitsch (see The Poncho Brothers' 'Airbed Drifter'), leftfield electronica (see Tross's 'Cashier') and the downright weird (see Paddy Steer's wonky 'Ancihoye'). All told, it's a collection that's perhaps best suited to those most at home playing longer sets to open-minded floors.

Review: Glaswegian label Invisible Inc has released its fair share of music over the years, specialising in all kinds of proto-techno, psychedelic, ambient and cosmic stuff. Dedicated to bringing music from the outer reaches of obscurity to the inner workings of your psyche, Invisible Inc always has a way of finding previously unheard, rare or missed music that sounds as fresh today as the day when it was made. V is For Vision hits that spot again, be it through the epic pulses of emotional bass in Double Discone's "A Pas Feutres" to 80s goa-acid tracks in "Athanato Nero" or via examples of new age/future percussion music in "Soixante Semaines". Label mates Secret Circuit and Sordid Sound System appear in their known ambient and experimental forms, with The Golden Bug hooking up with In Fields for the wandering and tripped out "La Main Jaune".

Underdogs (Tom Noble remix) - (6:42) 52 BPM Hot
Roll (Aritocrat P Child Re-edit) - (6:55) 61 BPM
Review: Emotional Response open the Secret Circuit archives to some of Eddie Ruscha's contemporaries from the City of Angels for a fine exercise in how to do a remix 12". First up is Suzanne Kraft, aka Diego Herrera who forms one half of Blase along with Ruscha; in his hands the crazy afro-stylings of "Afrobotics" are pulled towards the dancefloor, adding percussion and sirens, forging the originals vibes in to a ethno-beat club jam that is all about that heads down moment. Next up The Samps turns "Shockers" into a warped mesh of psychedelic dance, whilst Superior Elevation's Tom Noble adds some killer boogie vibes to "Underdogs". Finally Sun Araw man Cameron Stallones appears under rare alter-ego Aristrocrat P. Child to re-edit "Roll" in superb fashion.

Review: With recent releases for Internasjonal and Tim Sweeney's Beats In Space Records, Los Angeles based producer Secret Circuit (otherwise known as Eddie Ruscha) has had a breakthrough year with his brittle synth jams, taking inspiration from Balearic disco and minimal wave alike. However, he's been a prolific producer since 1996, and this record on Emotional Response, entitled Tropical Psychedelics, collects productions from Rusha up until 2010 that have previously only seen the light of day on cassette releases. Described by the label as a "Balearic-Tropical-Afro-Psychedelic whirl", the album packs a rich palette of analogue textures into its ten tracks, from the Afro dub of "Afrobotics", through the hazy, beatless combination of piano and analogue synth on "Psouvenirs" to the psychedelic tropicalia of "Foggy Twilights".
