Review: All five instalments of the 36 Hertz 100th release celebrations in one sick and savage place... DJ Vapour has put together something super special here that reflects every aspect, ingredient and flavour of his label. Vibes fly across the jungle spectrum from the likes of French OG Le Lutin's hardcore heavyweight 'Da Ruckusssss' to floatier, more contemporary cuts like Physics' 'Children Of The Night'. Elsewhere we're pummelled into submission by the breaks on Filibration's The Real Door', we're hurled deep down the jungle rabbit hole on cuts like ShupAs' 'Come Selecta' and our heads are torn straight off by the bossman Vapour on cuts like the opener 'How We Used To'. Cool and deadly business; here's to the next 100 releases.

Luke B - "Wake Up" - (5:45) 174 BPM
SR & Digbee - "Formula" - (5:36) 174 BPM
Review: BAM! Right in the kisser: DJ Vapour's 36 Hertz hit us hard with the first part of their 100th release celebrations. Three tracks, three absolute riots, Vapour takes the lead with 'How We Used To' by way of some outrageously brutal breaks and tense, pensive pads. He's backed by label longtimers Luke B and SR & Digbee. Luke strips back the drum muscle and brings the synths to the fore along with an epic hurricane Virus style bassline while SR and Digbee close on another apocalyptic amen blow out. Bring on the next samplers - this whole release run is going to be immense!

Review: Deep in the Jungle continue their onwards march with this, the seventh edition in their widely acclaimed Anthems series, a compilation that always finds the ideal mix of current and future talent to showcase. In the case of the former, well-travelled producers Epicentre and Kumarachi roll things out and tear them down on 'Light Em Up', which features a gnarly array of interlinked bass nodes and torn low frequency sonics, al underpinned by a percussion section that's the perfect blend of rusty and sharp. New talent emerges in the form of Trobe and Mirage, who have their first label release with '89', although you wouldn't have guessed it based off this tune's razor clean percussive edge and expert use of space, a hard thing to get right and one this pair blow out the water here. Rave samples, expansive basslines and a synth arrangement you won't be able to shake - unmissable. 34 tracks later and Deep in the Jungle have nailed every single one of them - big ups.

Review: Fifty tracks from Ghetto Dub. We'll repeat that; FIFTY tracks right here from the Bristol badassery stable! Fresh from the stashes of SR, Kumarachi, Aries, Vinyl Junkie, Conrad Subs, Octo Pi and many more on-point junglists across the generations, many of these tracks are brand new and all of them are heavier than a night down the Weight Watchers. Highlights include Conrad Sub's skanky groaner "Good As Gold", Jaguar Paw's utter filth session "Southside", Jay Aftermath's gnarly tech/soundsystem hybrid "The Jungle" and the pure rave purrs of Vinyl Junkie & Sanxion's "Outlandish"... But that's not even touching the sides of the fifty track attack. Dig deep and get rolling.

Review: 36 Hertz Recordings are back on track and back on beat this week, with a fiery compilation that isn't the longest out there but surely one of the hardest. Every single cut on this album is an explosion of vibrant jungle breaks and moody subterranean sonics, courtesy of some big names like DJ Hybrid, NC-17 and recent Metalheadz feature Jem One. The latter's track is especially good, a featherweight intro leading on into an aggressive, rambunctious slice of feverous energy, Jem One's recent foray onto the OG imprint of jungle music apparent in every bar. Perfectly timed to fit in with the new wave of junglist pressure coming out across the UK, 36 Hertz have hit the nail on the head with this one.

Get In To It/Real Junglist
SR - "Get In To It" - (5:33) 175 BPM
Real Junglist (feat THE RAGGA TWINS - SR remix) - (4:41) 174 BPM Hot
Review: Two of 36 Hertz' many sex machines, SR & Digbee return with two more outlandish slabs of genuine article drumfunk jungle. "Get Into It" daringly takes the most sampled man in history and still applies a sound and result that sounds like no other. Next up: SR goes solo with a junglised refix of January's breakbeat roller "Real Junglist". Slapped hard with classical Ragga Twin chats, the track lives up to its name more than the original did in many senses. Proper gear, this.

Review: Vapour's 36 Hertz imprint has gone into overdrive throughout 2015 with a consistent slew of multi-tempo jungle jugular-cutters. Each of the 12 tracks are brand new and exclusive to the collection with highlights grunting and snarling from every rusty amen edit: from the wall-of-sound assault of Jem One's "Last Stand" to the late 90s-style sparse dynamic of SR & Digbee's rolling wounder "Hustler" to absolute cymbal-smashing chaos from the label boss himself on "Sauna Shaker". An album that documents the label's authentic roots and uncompromised bill of health, 36 Hertz are on a major mission right now.

Review: For their latest release, veteran duo SR & Digbee have decided to look back for inspiration, back to the early '90s D&B sound to be more specific. They've tried to cover as much of the sound of this era as possible over four tracks, largely dropping the BPM from their usual 170 to around 140. The results are impressive with "Contagious" revisiting the good old days of pop-jungle, "Body Swerve" is all acidic dub, "Special Dedication" gets into deep D&B territory and "Zoom Zoom" steals a bit of Public Enemy to end on a hardcore high.

Badbwoy Style - (4:46) 175 BPM Hot
Review: Delivering some of the most messed-up modern junglist rhythms you'll hear this side of Bangface, SR & Digbee use their years of experience in this release to traverse the line between old school D&B and breakcore. While tracks like "Nightmare" and "Badbwoy Style" play havoc with breaks and bring the fun back to the genre with errant sampling, there's more to this duo than hard-hitting breaks. Second track "Nostromo" builds tension with cinematic strings as it rolls out hard and fast, punching hard and low with a bassline fit to start riots. "Harmony" recalls that sublime taste of the old school, with a taste of the future as it morphs into a techy roller fit for a Nightlife comp. Staggering stuff.

Review: With a statement cover imagining a planet overrun with speakers - what a place to live - this compilation offers some of the most bonkers jump-up and high octane D&B currently available for human consumption. Featuring some of the finest new talents from 36 Hertz's roster, this release splits into two halves. SR & Digbee's "Supersonic" and NC-17 & Soul Culture's "Jungle Nightmares" are helter-skelter mad, ready to break free at any moment. Push on to Lutin's "World Of Blue" and a deep rolling bassline and skitterish hi-hats make for a techy respite that's still packed with energy. Finally the tech continues with a cold, clinical disintegration into madness courtesy of Delphi Productions. Who said jump-up was samey?

Review: The latest release on DJ Vapour's 36 Hertz Recordings revisits the rave era with such clout and command, it genuinely feels like 1992. "Feel The Vibe" is a ruthless breakbeat cut sprung with the finest Prodigy-style detuned synths, "On The Run" comes complete with heavenly pianos, "Here We Go" attacks with rattling breakbeats and a tightly looped vocal while "Woah Iz Me" closes the show with a rich insanity riff and neat flips between between bold splashy amens and a more stripped back body-moving riddim. Review: DJ Vapour's 36 Hertz has been spreading good vibes for years now and with this compilation setting the benchmark at a very fitting 36th release for the label, it seems only right that it should be full of bangers. Featuring tracks from the likes of Callide, Cambridge, SR & Digbee and Vapour himself, it's a compilation full of those D&B classics-inspired tunes the label is famed for. The series so far has seen an impressive level of variety in the types of tunes they've uncovered, and this album really showcases the variety of sounds 36 Hertz encourages. The type of compilation that restores faith in drum and bass.

Twisted Love
SR & Digbee - "Twisted Love" - (5:37) 175 BPM Hot
DJ Vapour - "Vlad The Impaler" - (4:30) 172 BPM
Review: Two tasty tracks dedicated to the darkest of jungle vibes, Vapour's 36 Hertz Recordings pay homage to drum & bass music's most formative roots right here. SR & Digbee's "Twisted Love" is a bona fide hurter; an array of basses vie for your attention as they ripple and rasp amid a swamp of thick, industrial strength amens. Wheezing, pleasing and altogether teasing, it's an instant crowd pounder. "Vlad The Impaler" isn't far behind on the mean stakes; here the jungle beat come with added hi-hat splashes while a chorus of hoovers play havoc with your senses. Essential as always with 36 Hertz.

DJ Vapour - "Never Feel" - (5:07) 157 BPM
Skink - "Trapped Inside The Dream" - (7:31) 153 BPM
Review: In the mood for some genuine, bona fide old-skool? Thankfully this little beauty reminisces and influences in equal measure, starting with an appropriately named chop-n-rave smasher from Oxford-based ravers SR & Digbee. Channelling that '90s euphoric sound, Jem One's inclusion matches dubby bass with hands-in-the-air pads and a jangly amen. Vapour's dark jungle atmospherics and chopped breaks dominate the second half and finally Skink takes the unease up a notch with gothic synth pads and seriously creepy echoing atmospherics throughout. Ending on a bad trip, leaving on a high note.

Review: A truly delightful EP here from36 Hertz, "The Aztec Bass EP" celebrates a wealth of talent from the label, including such names as Acuna, DJ Hybrid, SR & Digbee and Ricky Force. Kicking things off with "Don't Need Your Love Baby" by Acuna and the spaced out intro switches into a synth driven, vocal hook and ensuing drop which is full of rattling metallic beats. DJ Hybrid's "I Get Mash Up" carries on with its bellowing bass and uplifting, polished vocal sections, before we move on to SR & Digbee's "Morning Strummer". Here things get a bit more rough and dirty on a Wilkinson-style tip before last but not least Ricky Force brings things to a close with the driving bass of "Setbacks".
