Review: Little-known Aussie producer Big Doint launches his own label with two tracks of fuzzy, in-your-face, deep house-goes-techno pump. FIO (that's Francis Inferno Orchestra to you and me) kicks things off with "Take No Time", a distorted foray into balls-out territory, blending woozy deep house chords and samples with full-throttle, titanium-clad techno beats (which, incidentally, sound like they were recorded in a cement mixer). Doint himself provides the second treat, the altogether deeper and groovier "Big Doint 1". Built around fluid, jazzy loops and dense, intricate percussion, it sounds like Soundstream after one two many "adult brownies", or Andres in the midst of a particularly involving daydream. As hard as it is to accurately describe, it's the EP's stand out moment by some distance.
