With a reputation as one of the most prolific jump up labels around, and curated by DJ and selector extraordinaire Blackley, Cre8 Dnb Music launched in 2015, quickly staking their claim as one of the upcoming labels to watch, and rightly so. Siphoning off some of his infectious, high-octane energy into Cre8, the label’s reputation for hard-hitting, consistent drum & bass output has continued to grow since the release of their very first project, ‘We Cre8 Vol 1’, which featured the close-knit team of the highly popular Cre8 Dnb Radio - Rowney, Blackley, Certified Sickness, Fineprint and Jaxx. Since then, a plethora of varied artists have been on the books, reading as a who’s who of widespread DnB talent: Bou, Simula, Ironlung, Hizzleguy, Dutta, Profile, Skore, L3MMY DUBZ and many more, and that’s without mentioning their pioneering Dub Club subscription service. Don’t expect the Cre8 train to stop anytime soon.
Review: JTR comes returns to Cre8 with another ripper. A hefty one track scud as part of the label's ever-developing singles series, "Wicked" lives up to its name with a woozy, raffish distorted swampy feel that rolls up and down the spectrum while the drums roll relentlessly. Perfect for those surprise switches and double drop scenarios. Wicked and bad.
Review: One track head shots: CRE8 cut straight to the chase with this inaugural "Singles" series launch. From the big bosser Blackley himself, "Eradicate" is a roaring riff heavy tear up that sits somewhere between Macky Gee and Mefjus thanks to its tight balance of infectiousness yet out-right technical muscle. With a deliciously trippy breakdown thrown in to boot; who needs more tunes on a release when you've got tracks as firing as this?
