Handy Work
Sunday In Paris - (5:23) 123 BPM
Review: Hot Creations chief Jamie Jones is back with a killer new tune in the form of "Handy Work". Said to have come about at the end of a studio session after working on other tracks, he rediscovered a classic diva sample originally used on a Junior Vasquez production from back in 1994. Completed in about an hour, Jones played it out in the club shortly after where the crowd reaction was intense - he knew he was onto something massive. Jones also serves up the deep, down and dirty afterhours bounce of "Mind Meld With Spock" as well as the deep and sensual mood music of "Sunday In Paris" with its sexy saxophone melody.

Yurican Soul - (6:33) 124 BPM Hot
Review: &Friends label head, former Radio 1 and now Defected Radio host, A&R consultant for Atlantic Records and all round electronic tastemaker, Lucy Monkman aka Monki sure keeps busy. She makes her debut on Hot Creations here with "Yurican Soul", which will hypnotise you with its slinky and hypnotic acid groove. This is backed up by "Ring Ring" featuring the vocals of award winning American poet and songwriter Rosemarie Wilson aka Queen Rose, who has previously collaborated with Luke Solomon, Eli Brown and Yuksek. This one hits with more power, mainly coming from its driving bassline.

Cubbe EP
Cubbe - (5:46) 124 BPM Hot
Review: With previous releases on Snatch! Records and Glasgow Underground, in addition to running their very own imprint Siena label, Disaia are a prolific pairing in Madrid's electronic music scene. Of their new release titled "Cubbe", the pair described how they 'tried to merge several styles of older tech house, using the percussion as a reference to follow the original line of Hot Creations.' That statement is fairly on-point, it's an infectious and sweltering tribal house groove in the tradition of fellow countrymen Chus & Ceballos. The dubby and bass-driven "Everybody" channels the sound of late '90s west coast tech house (not at all a bad thing) and closes it out with the contemporary flavour of swing-fuelled banger "He Was Out".

Bubble Ride (\\\) - (6:27) 124 BPM
Review: Hot Creations continues to pioneer a contemporary house sound, with two of the scene's most established talents collaborating on their debut release together. Label chief Jamie Jones teams up with MOOD Records boss and techno mainstay Nicole Moudaber here for "Pepper Shake", a tough rolling tech house jam aimed squarely at the main room dancefloor with the peak time in mind. Second original offering "Bubble Ride" is a more straight ahead affair in the vein of classic UK tech house. Moody and bass-driven, this functional cut is equally worthy of being played in the early evening or the morning hours alike.

Sweet Release - (5:36) 124 BPM Hot
Review: The ever reliable Gavin Lynch aka Matador has been a known staple of Richie Hawtin's Minus/Plus 8 imprints, in addition to running his own successful Rukus operation. Now he makes his debut for Hot Creations with the 'Wildside' EP, which the label best described themselves as featuring 'two contrasting tracks that stay true to the ethos of the label, synonymous with White Isle hedonism' and showing off a much different side than we're used to from the Irish producer. With that in mind, the quarantine party begins with the funky and tough rolling title track, packed full of swing fuelled rhythms and hypnotic vocal loops, followed by the slinky and hypnotic summer bliss of "Sweet Release".

Review: Delivering his first piece of solo produced music for more than a decade, Hot Creations welcome the legendary Danny Tenaglia with "Don't Turn Your Back" - a sweltering and hypnotic tribal tech house workout that calls to mind the seminal sounds he was responsible for at the turn of the millennium. On remix duties are some equally legendary figures of electronic music: Harry "Choo Choo" Romero of Subliminal fame injects some latin flair into the track, while the larger than life Carl Cox delivers not one but two renditions - the tough and functional main remix with dub techno inflections, and a slinky rolling groove on his "ASW" remix.

Acid Terrace EP
Jam Tight - (6:34) 124 BPM
Review: The pairing of Sammy W & Tobus first came to label boss Jamie Jones' attention back in 2011. Their fresh approach to DJ sets has garnered support from some of the scene's top DJs, and their their seamless blend of tech-house, funk and hip-hop has been released music on 8bit, Repopulate Mars and Brock Wild, as well as running their own labels Tobus X and Tobus Limited. Following on from last year's Bump It EP, the pair join forces once again on the Acid Terrace EP. Kicking off with the dirty, tough rolling funk of the title track with its jacked vocals, followed up by the rough and ready/Todd Terry influenced old school flavour of "Shake It" plus the druggy minimal shuffle of Jam Tight".

Review: Canadian tech house hero Nathan Barato is up next on Hot Creations, stepping away from his usual tough rolling tech-house sound for this full length. One half of duo The Roaches (with fellow Torontonian Carlo Lio), Barato has also released for the likes of Rekids, Cajual, Saved Records, Snatch and his very own Roots And Wings Music. He brings with him an old-school, energetic bounce throughout Past Forward, inviting some top names to join him for the ride. Kicking off with the early Chicago vibe of "Over You" featuring Montrealer Wayne Tenant, the freaky "She's A Rockstar" featuring Room 303, through to some hyper-boompty antics with Keith Rafael Perez, better known as Kid Enigma on "In Ya Soul" and even moments of super sexy deepness - as heard on "Don't Say It" featuring Mikey V.

Back & Forth
Back & Forth - (5:58) 120 BPM Hot
Review: "Back & Forth" is the collaboration between Chi-town legend DJ Sneak and Miami booty-bass hero Jesse Perez. It is a dope hip-hop jam that features vocals from KE and reminiscent of the '90s with its broken drum beat and spoken word lyrics. Sneak himself says that he wanted to create 'a street smart dance floor track with powerful latino sounds and all the right ingredients for a club banger'. Young Brazilian talent DJ Lukke is first to remix it, co-produced alongside Blakkat aka Mark Bell goes for a bass-heavy reggaeton influenced bounce while the legendary Ricardo Villalobos goes deep into the afterhours with his hypnotic minimalist rendition that is as idiosyncratic as ever,

Along Came Polly
Along Came Polly - (6:29) 124 BPM Hot
Review: Rebuke is an Irish DJ and producer who is on the ascent. He runs the night Outhouse in Kilterkenny and he has released EP's and singles on Saved, Toolroom and Mother with ones on DFTD to follow in the coming months. Most recently, his Rebuke/rave series has been causing a major stir with reimagined versions of rave era classics such as "Bombscare" and "The Tape" gaining glowing reviews from top DJs. Reuben Keeney serves up the tough rolling minimal funk of "Along Came Polly" - story has it that Keeney found it perhaps a bit too weird for Jamie Jones & Co. but the boss man by all accounts was loving it! Second offering "Rolo" does deep down and dirty disco loops for the late night in the vein or DJ Sneak or Phil Weeks in impressive fashion.

Danzer
Danzer (Adesse Versions remix) - (5:48) 122 BPM
Review: Already road-tested at his Ibiza residency during the summer, Syrossian says that "Danzer" was made in response to his frustration at modern house and techno. Certainly, its stream of consciousness vocal sample, shimmering chords and massive, filtered disco riff will endear it to any one who has grown sick of by the numbers gloomy techno. On the 'Techno Tool' take, the chords are deeper and more intense, while the bass booms powerfully. The other interpretation, offered by Adesse Versions, is markedly different. It see him lower the tempo, add in steely drums and drop a wiry acid line that niggles and nags like a Mediterranean matriarch.

Upside Down EP
Piano Not Piano - (6:46) 124 BPM Hot
Review: Star producer Andrea Oliva is back on Jamie Jones' always reliable imprint, with a brand new set of sturdy tech house numbers sure to rock the house. This release following up some tough grooves on Circus, Saved and Rawthentic. In typical Hot Creations style "Upside Down" is aimed squarely at the main room dancefloor and bounces away in near bombastic fashion, to get the crowd into the zone a bit earlier in the night "Piano Not Piano" works a treat with its dubby and hypnotic elements, as does "Sound Like That" with its use of strong swing and its catchy vocal refrain.

House Hits Vol 1
Story Of My Life - (6:42) 124 BPM Hot
Review: The unstoppable Paul Woolford returns. If the veteran Leeds producer wasn't busy enough churning out retro flavoured dancefloor weapons as Special Request, or bold house and techno on acclaimed imprints like Hotflush, Aus Music and Planet E - he's also found the time to make uplifting party house vibes recently for Edible and now Hot Creations. Fittingly, his latest offering is named House Hits Vol 1: a tongue in cheek albeit direct title for these two catchy and potentially anthemic classic house perspectives. The familiar bounce of "Story Of My Life" is reminiscent of The Windy City's first wave - think Ralphi Rosario or the like. There's a familiar vocalloop on the deep down and dirty acid trip "Don't Waste My Time" as well, which channels another icon of the same period's heyday - Trax Records.

Jack My Yum
Dunjacka (original mix) - (6:11) 124 BPM
Review: Tiger Stripes started off with releases on deep house labels like Ibadan and Nite Grooves, but this outing on Hot Creations sees him pivot towards a tougher sound. Granted, the title track still features vocals, but the chords surge menacingly, the kicks are steely and heavy and there are surges of noisy bass throughout. "Haunted" is more understated and stripped back, focusing on the Swedish producer's ability to weave together hypnotic, minimal house. However, his melodic sensibility is still audible in the tripped out hooks that rise up through the arrangement. "Dunjacka" is more in keeping with the Hot Creations in-house sound, as a looped vocal sample emerges through the jacking arrangement, while Leftroom's Matt Tolfrey drops a linear, funky take on the title track.

Lower Level - (6:06) 122 BPM
Review: With releases on labels like Defected and Get Physical to his credit, it is fair to say that Alessandro Magani aka Flashmob is one of the hottest tickets in house music right now. This is abundantly clear on The Lone Brazilian, his Hot Creations debut. The title track sees him sampling tribal chants and an ethnic vocal over a robust bass and tough, punchy drums. It makes for an intoxicating combination and is sure to cause mayhem whenever it's dropped. By contrast, "Lower Level" is more tracky and sees him opt for a murky bass and rolling snares to achieve the same effect as "Brazilian".

It's Like Before - (6:19) 124 BPM
Review: Ecuador's Carloh made a smashing debut last year with a release on Loco Dice's Desolat imprint and returns with his sophomore effort (in equally impressive fashion) for Jamie Jones' label: Hot Creations. The tough stomp of "Sound Pump" is fuelled by the signature bounce of the TR-808, jacked vocals and Plastikman style snare attacks. Second offering "It's Like Before" is definitely more a change of pace, going deeper with its hypnotic melody, boompty bass and diva vocals.

Theme From S'Express
Theme From S'Express (Detlef remix) - (5:52) 122 BPM Hot
Review: Well consider us surprised to say the least: we'd have never of thought that the acid house anthem "Theme From S'Express" would get a re-release on Jamie Jones' Hot Creations powerhouse - not to mention some absolutely killer remixes. Originally released in 1989 and produced by the legendary Mark Moore (in collaboration with Pascal Gabriel) from their debut studio album, Original Soundtrack. It peaked at No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart in April 1988 for two weeks and is considered as one of the earliest electronic music songs to incorporate sampling. The remixes come courtesy of Greek tech house hero Detlef - whose version is respectful to the original, but gives it an adequately modern reshape and works that 303 acid darn well. Lauer and Gerd Janson's Tuff City Kids remix keeps it in the late '80s realm, like they always do so well. It incorporates some steel drum presets and a hot Juno bassline.

Kooky Music EP
Kooky Chords - (6:32) 124 BPM Hot
Review: Hot Creations boss Jamie Jones manages to find time for another release, in between his Ibiza residency and travelling the globe as one of modern house music's most popular DJs. His latest offering brings everything you'd expect from the Welshman and nothing less. These four Summery and pop-inflected tech house cuts are hot material on their own and make a cohesive EP. Starting off with the anthemic "Sound Of Music" covering jungle legend Nookie's track of the same name and with pop sensation Katy B on vocals. The rolling peak time groove "Kooky Chords" is absolutely the sound of not only 'The Island' but Jones' label and will bang the party just as much as recent offerings by wAFF or Phil Kieran. Then there's a bouncy and sleazy early evening jam in the form of "Positive Pressure" featuring American Kevin Knapp and the druggy/minimal afterhours DJ tool "Parallel Universe".

La Fiesta (Luca Cazal remix) - (6:12) 124 BPM
La Fiesta (Todd Terry remix) - (9:16) 122 BPM
Review: After a busy eighteen months promoting his debut album 'Catch Me If You Can'; which received accolades from both Mixmag and DJ Mag, Essex's Max Chapman brings us his La Fiesta EP. Since his arrival on the scene six years ago, Chapman has released on a who's who of labels including VIVa, Toolroom and Elrow. With "La Fiesta", Chapman has encompassed the essence of The White Isle. He claims that his tracks come together organically only after a few hours of 'playing around' in the studio, but this track came from a very clear intention of how he wanted it to sound. After a night out at Ibiza institution Amnesia; where he became hypnotised by the sweltering latin rhythms, he went straight home and worked on the track immediately: and here's the result. The EP comes with some great remixes by the versatile Luca Cazal and house veteran Todd Terry.

Solar Storm (Mano Le Tough remix) - (9:06) 124 BPM Hot
Realities Forgotten (Matthew Herbertas aRemembering' dub) - (6:49) 123 BPM
Review: This second EP of remixes of tracks from Phil Kieran's impressive Blinded By The Sun album is notable for containing a now rare remix from fellow Northern Irishman David Holmes. The producer-turned-soundtrack composer delivers a predictably hazy, atmospheric interpretation of "Loved Too Much" that skillfully balances cinematic traits with the hypnotic techno found on his earliest releases. While undeniably impressive, Matthew Herbert's distinctively wonky, micro-house style rub of "Realities Forgotten" is arguably even better. Throw in a cheery, piano-heavy deep house take on 'Solar Storm" by Mano Le Tough, and you have an essential collection of tasty, club-ready reworks.

Crazy Bitch - (6:42) 124 BPM
Review: Hot Creations gear up to drop the eagerly anticipated new release by Rowan Jones aka Route 94. Echoing the excitement that surrounded his number one hit "My Love" which propelled him to stardom in 2014, the release has been in serious demand for months. Title track "House & Pressure" contains the vocals from Joey Negro's classic "Ride the Storm" featuring Linda Clifford. The dominant female vocal on the track, combined with the force of the drum machines makes for quite a powerful production. The affectionately titled "Crazy Bitch" has more of a big room sound and incorporates ghetto house elements. "Dark Keyless" is the complete opposite, creating a groove that aims to grab the crowd and let them loose. With a wealth of new material still on the way and a hectic touring schedule in place, it's clear this is only the start for the young artist.

Starfucker (Ian Pooley remix) - (7:07) 124 BPM
Review: Matthew Dear lands on Hot Creations under his notorious Audion moniker. At the top of his game for over a decade, the talented artist has also released successful albums under his original name and performed with a live band; opening arenas for Depeche Mode, Interpol and more. In true Audion style, "Starfucker" takes a series of unexpected turns and the groove propelled track is made to shake up big rooms. Audion's second original "Need Your Loving" is equally intoxicating, with subtle vocals and driving drums. Over twenty years into his career and Ian Pooley is still releasing on the biggest and cutting edge labels, with recent appearances on Innervisions, Ovum and Tsuba. He packs the swing into his remix and adds his signature style with a touch of class. The Martinez Brothers remix is bursting with energy and demonstrates the duo's understanding for how to work the main room.

Review: Andrea Oliva is one of Europe's rising tech-house stars - and with good reason. Following releases on labels like Cadenza, Saved and Be As One, he drops Trust for Hot Creations. The title track is a hypnotic tribal house affair that rolls to the sound of a hypnotic female vocal, features a mushed acid break down and a soaring bass that sounds like it was recycled from an old hardcore record."Soho Nights" is a tighter, jacking affair; it revolves around a steely rhythm a surging bass and the kind of siren-led riffs that will ensure it causes mayhem wherever it is dropped.

The First Time
The First Time - (7:19) 123 BPM Hot
Review: Since making his debut in 2014, Bontan has made a serious impression. This first outing on Hot Creations follows much-played material on Madtech, Circus, Toolroom, Cajual and Suara. "The First Time" is retro-futurist in feel, featuring as it does a combination of undulating, acid-style motifs, jacking Chicago-style drum fills, bouncy tech-house beats and a drowsy, seemingly sampled spoken word vocal. "Personal Question" takes a similar sonic approach, utilizing a bolder, Adonis style bassline, nagging bleep noises, and delay-laden vocal snippets to conjure a sweaty, late night mood. Both tracks are solid rather than sensational, but undoubtedly have the right blend of ingredients to cause major dancefloor devastation.

No Life (Roman Flugel remix) - (6:43) 120 BPM
Review: Irish techno hero surprised us all with the summery and housey bumpiness of his full length opus Blinded By The Sun last year in 2016 which signalled a real change in direction for the master producer's sound for powerhouse label Hot Creations. There are now some killer remixes of some tracks from the album: first up Frankfurt legend Roman Flugel who gives "No Life" a deep and atmospheric makeover with a chunky/razor sharp bassline and trippy analogue synth atmospherics throughout: the guy's trademark really. Next up the imitable Andrew Weatherall delivers an epic and euphoric take on "Find Love" which is awash in sublime arpeggios and dusty rhythms and manages to retain the pop inflected aesthetics: those vocals work really well and add another dimension to the track...

Review: Up next on Jamie Jones' tech house power house is Canadian rising star Paolo Rocco. The Montreal native's profile has increased in significance steadily over the last few years with great releases/remixes on the likes of Saved, Defected and I'm A House Gangster. First track "Judgement" is a bumpin' and jacking affair with tough beats and dirty vocals over its tight groove. It gets some wicked remixes too: Greek tech house hero Detlef works his magic as always with his rolling and adrenalised rendition that will appeal to fans of Gruuv or Knee Deep In Sound. Then what was a most interesting addition: in the form of UK legend Trevino who delivers a dark and tunnelling late night cut, with some snarling 303 acid throughout that will have you surrendering to the void. Finally, one more original track is on offer in the form of "That's It", a dusty and jackin' tune that's full of swing and oddball samples that will work a treat at the Sunday afternoon afterhours.

Review: Two heroes of the new breed kick off a new mix series for Jamie Jones' esteemed Hot Creations imprint. Jones began Paradise at DC10 (Ibiza) five years ago and it's gone on to be a huge success, inviting the biggest names in the business to come play alongside his crew of residents. The first mix is courtesy of Toronto's Nathan Barato, a frequent collaborator with local heroes such as Carlo Lio and The Junkies and whose career has been on the rise with releases on Cajual, Saved, Circus and Defected. Highlights include the Derrick Carter classic "Where Ya At?" (Mix Originale), Makam's brooding "Loleatta" and Jared Wilson's rusty acid odyssey "Girl, I'm Waitin". UK talent Patrick Topping this year completed his third summer as resident at DC10 in Ibiza for Paradise. Here Topping showcases the sound and style of his sets with high energy from the word go. His mix features several of his own productions guaranteed for maximum dancefloor impact, as well as Metaboman's lo-slung and exotic "Next Please" through to Dave Clarke's massive remix of Jark Prongo's "Movin Thru Your System".

Psycho Girfriend - (7:13) 124 BPM
Review: Jamie Jones' esteemed tech house imprint returns to wax! This time it's courtesy of Solardo; the UK duo of Mark Richards (MRK1) and James Eliot who have appeared previously on Madtech, Viva, Kaluki and Lost. On the Tribesmen EP, the title track showcases the tribal leanings that the title may suggest. This dynamic track's stripped back and percussive driven tendencies start off nicely, until that rolling bass and exotic chant soon comes into the fold. The charmingly titled "Psycho Girlfriend" is more representative of the London label's sound on this downright funky, totally bumpin and undeniably druggy stomper that just reeks of late night hedonism.

Review: Irish tech house legend Phil Kieran returns with a full length for the Hot Creations powerhouse entitled Blinded By The Sun. It features ten generous servings of groove therapy, covering a wide variety of moods. There's of course the hot lead single "Make A Change" featuring its bouncy and infectious groove, the indie dance of the title track (featuring some hot vocals!) or "Solar Storm" featuring the amazing vocal talents of Zimbabwe's Wilson Magwere. While elsewhere there's more quality, rest assured. For instance some woozy, Crosstown Rebels style poptronica on "Find Love" and some deeply emotive house aimed squarely at the dancefloor on "Realities Forgotten".

Review: Irish techno hero Phil Kieran on Hot Creations? You better believe it! The man presents "Make A Change", a funky, bass driven party anthem with sexy pop vocals and one totally mad cowbell attack! There's then several remixes, but for our money it's definitely San Francisco acid retrovert Matrixxman who really delivers the goods on both counts. Firstly, his main remix is a tunnelling techno trip with the most psyched out 303 sounds you'll hear this year. Next his "Warehouse remix" goes down the darker industrial techno route; no doubt inspired by his appearances at Berghain, this one's totally fierce!

Review: Leeds based upstart Jey Kurmis is back on Hot Creations for some adrenalised tech house jams that certainly don't skimp on the funk. The title track certainly works the suspense by building on that tightly programmed rhythm, but just you wait until the bassline comes rushing in; it's a killer! Label head honcho Jamie Jones lends a nice re-edit to the track "Farno" which certainly gets a stomp on in terrific fashion. Final track "Monie" is definitely the most minimal and restrained effort on here, probably our favourite too: as it reminds us of classic mid noughties Jamie Jones stuff on Freak N Chic, funnily enough!

Review: Hot Creations are back everyone; look out! Continuing on with their modus operandi, it's business as always: punchy and summery tech house for hedonists. Who better to tap for such a track than Leeds via Ibiza troublemakers and Gruuv head honchos Audiojack, with a bit of help from Kevin Kanpp. "Vibrate" is a bit more restrained than their usual stuff but it's still a killer. Deep, druggy and funky for the warm up or post-peak time alike. There's a couple of remixes of said track by Berlin's ReYou and m_nus affiliate Barem; it's the latter's which stands out the most, keeping it in the trippy and warped after-hours tempo. Second original track "Random Matter" keeps things on the deeper spectrum, sounding like a mid-noughties Innervisions jam in a way. Nice one!
