Review: Canadian duo Knight Riderz have been making a big splash in the breaks world, with neon-guided originals as well as hot remixes for the likes of Fresstylers and South Rakkas. This eight track LP really packs a huge amount of bang for your buck, right from the storming half-step breaks of the opening title tune into the spectral crunk of "Reign In The Clouds". Hip-hop acapellas get diced and sprayed all over the excellent "Synthetic Seduction", while "Brain Explosion" sees the vocoders come out to play over a ludicrously intense metal-funk jam - truly one that needs to be heard to be believed. Next-level breakbeat, this comes thoroughly recommended.

Review: The Muti Music label prefer to deal in sounds, rather than specific genres. Since 2002, the imprint has given us a whole selection of timeless electronic escapades that have delved into Balearic, bass, house, industrial, and sounds not capable of being contained under one phrasing. Andreilien has been an important presence for them over the last few years, and the producer is back with his third LP for the label, the aptly named Algorithm. This isn't really half-step, but it's not quite digital dub either, it's just something in between; a dark, mechanical construction of beats and murky electronic sonics. It most certainly is a breath of fresh air, however, and it will likely appeal to any bass-head who finds themselves bored by the current direction of dubstep, and other affiliated genres. Exploration and experimentation are the keywords, here!

Review: The Muti Music team have delivered a very tasty treat for us to sink our teeth into here as Mat The Alien unleashes two system-ready rollers as part of this colourful new two-track delight. We open up with the constantly shifting backdrops and fluid arrangements of 'Bat Yam', a crunchy dive down systemic bass bulges and unique percussive clicks, shifting towards a minimal drum pattern to match. On the flip, we take in 'BC Collective', a moody soundscape exploring half-time rhythms and grizzly horn stabs, giving us an almost crime-syndicate sounding anthem. Wicked work all around!

Review: Who's ready for a tangled descent into the weird and wonderful? We certainly are as we walk you through this stunning new bag of tricks from MURDA, who really lets loose across these four fantastic original creations. We kick off our odyssey into the unknown with 'Valmiki, a super syncopated jamboree of eastern plucks and rolling 808's, before the unpredictable drum combustions of 'The Prophet' take the starring role. Next up we meandre into the more stripped back musings of 'Kalidasa' before finishing up with a real lick of style on 'The Crow', a super distorted ball of jerky rhythms and hypnotic melodic loops. Awesome stuff all around on this one!
