Review: With releases on Descending Order, Eyepatch Recordings, eMBi Music and Nite Grooves to his name already, Italian producer Phatool is fast becoming something of an industry veteran, despite his tender years. Here, he marks his first appearance on Product London with a hazy EP of tech-tinged deep house. Opener "Deep Influence" is tactile and hypnotic, with clear minimal techno and dub house influences, while "Empty Sometimes" is a trippy chunk of quietly melodious tech-house. The percussive and throbbing "Good Day Off Day" continues in this vein, before the pulsating "Troubles" impressively blends European tech-house nous with Iberican tribal house attitude.
Review: French brothers Brenn and Cesar Daude are just as influenced by deep dubby techno as they are London garage. This distinctive fusion is evident on their Product debut as they successfully find space amid a slick, bubbling techy bass groove for soul-stirring Eastern prayer call. Remix-wise Oliver Schories gets his jack on, G.Pal lays down a lolloping tech-funk groove while Rafael Murillo weaves a spell of heavily textured synth magic, deep house style. Like the fashion brand the title shares its name with, this is a wholly classy affair.
Review: Londoner Jamie Hustle is serious about his UKG - running the House Surgery blog and delivering quality nocturnal productions. "Night People" features two original cuts - the slammin' big vocal UKG of the title track and the moodier speed garage of "BABY". Elsewhere with the remixes we get deep and sultry beats from Freight Train, haunted trancey Eurohouse from Vamos Art and some pretty out there 4 x4 from the topically named One Nil. Totally boss.
