Time Is Now (UK)

As Bristol’s music scene continues to pioneer new sounds and styles across the world of music, the labels that house those sounds must be celebrated. When it comes to innovation, there aren’t many places with it in more of an abundance than Time Is Now (UK), a fantastic sub-label of the Shall Not Fade imprint. Since launching with two releases in April of 2020, they have been on a fantastic streak, welcoming artists such as Wilfy D, Soul Mass Transit System D Jason, Baby J, Interplanetary Criminal and more to showcase their unique approach to garage music. The experimental side of UKG can safely be described as their speciality zone, with their releases continuing to grow in popularity and allowing the Shall Not Fade team access to an outlet for the more “outside the box” styles of production they receive. The quality levels have continued to rise since the labels inception and we can’t see that pattern changing any time spoon.

Review: Shall Not Fade sister imprint Time Is Now continues its white label series with Omerta Records' Artificial Red who delivers four beautiful and authentic foundation deep jungle style cuts. Following recent dispatches on the likes of 3AM Eternal and Lore, the young Bristolian gets his jazzy cosmic freak on once again; the Orbital-meets-Justice pads and punches of 'Seperation' and the deep dream Omni Trio flurries and vapour trails of 'This Time' are too particularly stunning highlights, but the whole EP is sublime.

Review: It seems that nearly every week we find ourselves inundated with a new box of goodies from the Time Is Now team, with this being the 22nd edition of their 'White' series, emulating white label culture with some fearsome A&R work. This time around, the legendary Shadow Child returns for four tasty snacks, kicking off with the floaty choral backdrops and breaks-infused sub chomps of 'O Yeah'. Next, a slower, more moogy adventure through crunchy drum processing and bubbling basslines alongside Mr Time in 'Empire', before 'P&O' takes us right back to the heart of 90's rave with a nostalgic masterclass in synthetic backing. Finally 'In Your Arms' combines classic big room vocals with crunchy bass grooves to round off the EP in real style!
