Black Tears - (4:55) 127 BPM Hot

The Polygon - (5:27) 127 BPM
Skin Trap - (5:19) 128 BPM
Review: Ukonx has put on an impressive series of underground electro release, and the latest addition to its fold, 0=3, builds on the French label's strong heritage. The title track opens the EP in an ominous mood, with a growling bass and lumbering drums providing the platform for nightmarish synths to sweep and swirl around. "A Single Grain" is rooted in a similar approach, with 0=3 layering brooding synth lines over a bruising rhythm and splurging low end, while the stargazing melodies on "The Polygon" soundtrack a trip into deeper, more esoteric territory. In contrast, "Skin Trap" is very much rooted on terra firma thanks to its crisp drums and sharp percussion.

Review: French label Ukonx Recordings returns this week with a new release by The Hidden Persuader (THP) which comes after an eight year hiatus. The Welsh artist has re-emerged with a diverse sonic repertoire defined by a style of dark electro. Four depth charged explorations await you on the Stand Up Straight EP: from the Drexciyan future funk of opener "Trust Issues", to the bass heavy sci-fi beats of "Tear It Down" and closing it out with "There's No Respect" which goes out all lasers blazing - intergalactic style - on this truly dystopian cut.

A World Of Silence - (5:24) 132 BPM
Unmuted - (5:22) 132 BPM
Review: Ukonx is an acclaimed electro imprint, numbering the legendary Dave Clarke among its supporters. As this release from label mainstay Deemphasis demonstrates, it's not hard to understand why it enjoys such acclaim. "Silent Path" marries tight 808s with acid sequences for a foreboding but distinctive workout, while on "Control" Deemphasis raises the tempo to deliver a combination of steely hi hats, muddy bass and robotic vocals. The title track is deeper and more esoteric, with the French producer using atmospheric synths as an accompaniment to a stream of consciousness vocal. "Unmuted" sees Deemphasis in more reflective mode, with a warm bass set to a skeletal groove.

Unify - (4:23) 137 BPM
Gravity Vortex - (4:37) 136 BPM
Floating - (4:22) 135 BPM
Review: Erik Griffioen slips into his Lloyd Stellar electro guise to deliver a superb EP for French imprint Ukonx .The title track, with its queasy bass and oppressive beats, opens the release in menacing form, while the tripped out "Gravity Vortex" sees Griffioen maintaining a moody undercurrent while voyaging deeper into abstract territories. On "Unify", Griffioen demonstrates a more esoteric side to his canon, with steely drums and dreamy, ERP-style synths coming together to make for an atmospheric arrangement. This deeper mood continues on "Floating", where the Dutch producer conjures up haunting textures that ebb and flow over laid back 808 patterns.

Review: Having debuted last year on the Urban Connections label, electro producer SINITSIN surfaces on Ukonx Recordings and finds his music in the good company of Isolated Material, Fotoapparat and French electro upstarts, Sound Synthesis. Going hard and heavy in the industrial electro department on the title-track, get something faster and pity-patty in "Machine Learning" next to some turned out melodies and progressions of "Digitized". And for that extra slice of future electro bleep, check out "Pathfinder".

Review: French producer Paul De Almeida aka Isolated Material, is here with his debut album. Exploring dense and rhythmically experimental techno that lifts influences from Detroit and Ducth electro, six new experiments arrive on Ukonx Recordings. Pushing a sound that should appeal to fans of labels Central Processing Until and Cultivated Electronics, Isolated Material sends in a bevy of killer acid tracks ("Control Your Mind') to more stripped back numbers in "Programmatic" and "Root Cause". Fresh mutant electro. Keep it real.

Harmonic Synchronization - (5:53) 132 BPM
Pain - (6:22) 132 BPM Hot
Review: Following on from 2018's Organic release, Deemphasis returns to Ukonx for this spellbinding electro four-tracker. "Searching", with its robotic vocals and vaguely menacing synths, sounds redolent of vintage Anthony Rother, while on "Sector Seven", the French artist opts for a more steely, metallic take on electro-funk. "Harmonic Synchronization" sees Deemphasis opt for a different approach, with wave upon wave of acid and eerie synths providing the basis for Kraftwerk-style vocals to unravel over high-paced breaks. "Pain" rounds off this fine, futuristic release with a combination of soaring synth sweeps, staccato rhythms and punchy 808 drums.
