Last year, Dubliner Cian Moynagh made the first breakthroughs of his career, contributing tracks to a couple of compilations on Aftertech. Here he goes a step further, delivering a debut two-track single that neatly showcases his hybrid, hard-to-pigeonhole house sound. Check first opener 'Lately', a delicious female-led vocal number in which Moynagh's own excellent piano playing, twinkling synthesizer melodies and atmospheric chords rise above a smooth, tech-tinged house groove. Title track 'Strange Love' is similarly evocative, with Moynagh once again tinkling the ivories on a deep, skittish and attractive drum & bass number full of morning-fresh melodies and emotive female vocal samples.
