Review
Gabriel Le Mar is a producer living in Frankfurt, releasing electronic music with a special focus on deep/dub inflected tech house sounds. He's racked up some impressive collaborations over the years, with studio time with legends such as Dr Motte, Pascal FEOS and Brendon Moeller, plus Marko Fuerstenberg and even the late great Pete Namlook. For his own diverse Le Mar Production imprint, he serves up an impressive full length - and it's exactly what you would expect from this veteran producer, and some! After the gorgeous chill-out balearica of opener "Iced Wire" (feat Klangzeuger) we are treated to around a dozen and a half techno experiments that are heavy on the low end, drenched in delay and that will transport you to the most chilling, glacial and cavernous depths. Although it obviously uses masters of the craft such as Basic Channel and Echospace as reference points, it still can stand proud on its own. On the collaborative front, there's some great ones: the best being the aforementioned Dr Motte's entrancing and evocative "The Breeze" and Swiss young guns Smalltown Collective who deliver an electrifying remix of "Deep Red Guitar".Get new release alerts
