Review

Saucy's ever-tasty tones get tangier by the release. Jackal's heads-down breakbeat swinger is proof. Coming on strong like a Bassbin Twins roller (think earlier noughties, Botchit-style) it's got enough tech and bass beef to satisfy all manner of genres. As have the remixes from Jaquo George (rolling tech) and Pelikann (tripped out warped bass thunder). "Underscore", meanwhile, sees Jackal get sassy on a classic electro b-boy break with sultry vocal samples and a gruff bassline that makes itself known gradually throughout the track. Think a deeper "Doomsnight" and you get the idea. Remix-wise Distinct adds ten tonne of subby flab to the kicks while Libra takes us into bubbly deep house territory. Clearly Jackal and Saucy are not making up the numbers.
