Review
Unlike most of the releases on this label, Tadeo aka Miguel Sar opts to open his latest release on Token with chilling, orchestral strings that comprise "On The Way To Reykjavik". The Spanish producer then proceeds to the dance floor, but again, delivers some surprises. There's the firing percussion and cold bleeps of "Long Time Ago" and "The Labyrinth", a drum-heavy, loopy affair, both of which are redolent of Jeff Mills rather than the grainy, knotted rhythms that Kr!z label is known for. On "The Globular Ray", Sar takes a leaf from Mike Parker's bass-heavy, tonal sound, while on parting shot "Ascension", he returns to abstract mode, drawing on the chilling shapes thrown by Jeff Mills.Get new release alerts
