Turkish producer Uraz Kurt has an interesting approach to nu-disco. Utilizing both baggy, organic instrumentation and glistening synths, he creates music that sits somewhere between the effortless musicality of Crazy P and the beach-fixated nu-disco of Sare Havlicek. This EP for Soulab features some notable highlights, from a suitably loose and languid cover of Inner City classic "Big Fun" to the electrofunk-influenced hip-hop soul of "Remember The Light". Most impressive of all, though, is the atmospheric and cosily soulful version of Donnie Hathaway classic "Little Ghetto Boy". It's certainly a diverse EP, but Kurt's clearly got skills.Get new release alerts
