Dance To The Drummer's Beat (feat The Real Fake MC) - (3:54) 122 BPM
Review: Nope, not a Mike Leigh film about a council estate couple, Trevor & Lisa are in fact a Parisian Funk trio comprising Sebastien Despicht, Mikael Prignot and Stephane Ugolini. Dedicated to the art of live performance, these guys have rinsed the French gig circuit and their resulting musical dexterity has now manifested itself in this debut album. It's a rollicking good listen with standouts including the breaky "Night Of The Wolf", the electro-boogie of "Soundshake" and the spacey, voicebox-led experience that is "Time".
Review: Following the resounding success of their highly regarded 'Emergency Break EP,' _asstnt & Roll Dann make a triumphant return after a two-year hiatus. This dynamic Spanish duo joins forces once again, gracing Pfirter's esteemed label with their second studio collaboration. "Old Gem" effortlessly showcases _asstnt & Roll Dann's mastery of their craft with a sonic landscape where powerful basslines and pulsating synths take center stage, propelling the momentum to new heights. Impeccably distorted stabs create an infectious rhythm, while haunting pads intermingle with sharp percussive elements, conjuring an atmosphere brimming with dark allure. Each track is expertly crafted to generate the necessary tension and transport listeners to a realm of captivating intensity.
Review: The Dirty Kitchen Rave team have unveiled a fiery collection indeed here, welcoming not only the innovative production talents of - Urbano -, but also three keen remixers to deliver this 'Relax' EP in style. The original track is a spicy one, laced with hard hitting robotic-style synth designs and subtle, eastern-sounding chord progressions, culminating in a hard hitting chopper of a drop. Remix wise, we firstly see MINT touch down with a more sublow approach to the arrangement, making the most of those fiery vocals, before POok gives the track a much more abstract, soundscape-driven feel. Finally, Pixel Fist unleashes a throwdown dubstep-sounding overhaul, giving the project one final dash of originality to close upon.
