Review: Hannover's Peppermint Jam predicts that 2018 will be a good year for house music - and what better to support this than with the third outing of the mighty Jam Files series. The label's very own Mousse T. starts the journey with a fresh exclusive, featuring the inimitable Peven Everett on the sensual jam "Pleasure" and even a remix of his anthem "Horny" from '96 by Scott Diaz. Review: As Sebas Ramis' Sub_Urban Music label gets set to celebrate a decade in deep house, the label's compilation series reaches its eighth 'chapter'. Given the significance of the anniversary, you'd expect the label's latest trawl through its' archive of released and unreleased music to be extra special, and it most certainly is. Rich in rolling, deep, groovy, heart-warming and sun-kissed house sounds, 'Chapter 8' is packed to the rafters with high-grade, club-ready treats. Our picks of a very strong bunch include JT Donaldson's tactile and evocative remix of Ramis's 'High Hopes' (as well as the same remixer's wonderful rework of Dirtytwo's 'Hopeless'), Folamour's deliciously dusty revision of Guri's 'Everything I Do', the rubbery, glassy-eyed loveliness of Sebb Junior's 'Need a Break', and the bouncy brilliance that is 'Endless Luminosity' by Scott Diaz.

Review: An 18-track compilation here from Yam Who?'s uber-hip Midnight Riot label, featuring tracks from as many different artists. There aren't many A-list names on offer but the respected likes of Ivan Pica, Ken@Work, Sean Scanlan and Frank Virgilio are all represented, and given the sheer number of tracks it's going to be a very fussy disco/boogie/disco-house lover indeed who doesn't find SOMETHING to enjoy! Standouts for this writer include Pica's struttin', funk-fuelled 'I Don't Care' and Pierre-M & Ant Klent's equally funky 'Smiley Face'; also worthy of note are covers of The Clash and Terence Trent D'Arby, courtesy of Ken@Work and Lee Wilson respectively.
