Review: Featuring tracks from Weval's second artist album, The Weight, this series of remixes includes some outstanding reworks of Harm Coolen and Merijn Scholte Albers' work. Michael Mayer turns "Same Little Thing" into a pulsating, low-slung groove that resounds to cosmic melodies and golden, vocodered vocals. On the Alternative remix of the same track, rolling live drums and woozy melodies prevail, while Lake Turner's take on "The Weight" offers another different approach as understated kicks underpin swirling trance melodies that could have come from Border Community's back catalogue. Most impressive of all though is synth wizard Steve Moore's take on"Roll Together", which evolves from a murky bass into an epic, ominous stepper.
