Review: He'll shake you, he'll stir you, he'll hurl you around the dancefloor with tunes you didn't know existed. It's David Double O, the co-founder of Rupture and one of the most stealth-like production ninjas the game has ever known. In operation for more years than you get for a multiple murder, he finally unleashes this debut LP and, to put things simply, it's a true lesson in foundational jungle craft. The space and rattles around the breaks on 'Testing Ground', the stark dark soul of 'Bad To Worse' and the absolute relentlessness of 'Riddim Yah' are three of many highlights. If you're a regular at Rupture you'll already have these deep in your psyche. Exemplary.

Review: All gully on the Western front; Dead Man's Chest's label begin to present a brand new Blunted Breaks compendium. The last one, released 2018, did serious damage with the likes of Coco Bryce, Thugwidow, Earl Grey and Tim Reaper in the blend and there's no doubt this collection will do the same as friends old and new collide to celebrate the broken beat in all its blunted and deeper forms. Response & Pliskin set the scene with big breezy pads wrapped up over classic rave breaks. Serious 6am business. They're followed by The Dreamers affiliate D'TCH with the sublime halftime exploration 'Re-reparation' before Coco Bryce sends every single hair on your body on end with his twist Double O's 'God Is A Woman'. Last but not least Eusebeia closes the deal with a nod to the old Moving Shadow days. Keep it blunted.

Review: A very exciting release from up and coming imprint Ako Beatz, not least because it features a scarce studio offering from the legendary GOLDIE! Cold Mission is first up to the plate with a heavy hitter, synth work reminiscent of "Champion Sound" is driven forward by some rough jungle breakbeats, chopped with laser like precision. The godfather Goldie's long awaited return to production does not disappoint. The warm bassline and tribal loops will have the ravers bubbling like a shaken bottle of Lucozade. Double 0 demonstrates his jungle heritage with space age atmospherics and skipping beats that harp back to the glory days 90's jungle, "New Skank" it sure is but it's one that clearly knows it's history. Last but certainly not least Threshold's "Bad Nah Bloodclart" is a dark roller with an eerie hook perfect for a grimey 4am set.

Review: The "Final Chapter LP" brings together a collection of tracks from the likes of Stranjah, Overlook, Relapse, Parallel & Coincide, Heavy Stereo and My Foul. With upcoming D&B talent in abundance across the album, this is well worth listening to if you like unearthing new music and discovering new names. From the rolling percussion of "Prominence" through such moments as Fade's experimental "Ruff Tactics" and Champa B's old skool "Darkness Through Light", there is plenty for everyone here. Also watch out for Double O's "Concrete Jungle" and Verb & Devastate's "The Killzone". Awesome.
