Review: Low Down Deep has become one of the premier destinations for UK jump-up, playing host to every big name in the scene over the years. Now a proper flag-holder for the resurgent jump-up movement, Low Down Deep are back and they're repping Ego Trippin, a duo who have been round the block and then some. They're coming out with their second full-length LP, a rare thing these days, and track one 'Bad Girls' is playful yet devastating, with an upbeat and funky arrangement that lands hard - very hard. 'Baby Blues' is less subtle, with pitched up synths that pummel the top end of the range and a snapping drum line that nails the bottom end. Yes guys!

Review: Logan D's Low Down Deep imprint celebrate 100 releases with this bumper to bumper banger collection with cuts from the biggest names in the heavier end of the game; Turno, Maji, Upgrade, Voltage, Heist, Serum and of course the late great Dominator are just some of the heavyweights involved. Every tune is a highlight but mad salutes fire in the direction of Turno & Pacso with their purring harmonic bass creeper "Cosmic Funk", K Motionz' long awaited summer slamming anthem "Buckaguy" and the blissful rippling charms and outrageous subby drop of Heist's "Hawaiian". Elsewhere there's pure gully fisticuffs as Kanine has "Bloody Knuckles" and Serum has "Brass Knuckles". Either way, they both KO. Like the whole album. Get on this.

Review: Logan D's Low Down Deep continues to dominate the game with this XXXL VA from some of the best in the jump-up and dancefloor game. Ego Trippin set the scene with the early 2000s Bristol flavoured cut 'Curly Wurly' before we plunge deeper and deeper down the bassline rabbit hole. Tomoyoshi goes full bounce on 'Go Down Low', Dutta & Stompz twist up a sweet and sensual vocal on 'Take Ya Time', Neman & Slipz foretell Armageddon with the brutalist 'War Of The Worlds' while the poorly named Average goes beyond all expectations with their full-send blaze-up 'Hermes'. Last but definitely not least Magenta & Kenji lock us down with the gut-melting fire session 'Secure'. Strength in numbers!

Higher Stakes bosser Pacso links up with Term for the grizzly opening salvo before Ego Trippin throw a few extra notes into the already infectious bassline riff on the Methodical "Barely Breathing". These are some of the sounds and noises he made... Review: Finally putting the trip into Ego Trippin, 'Acid Trip' sticks its tongue out at every rave in a 100 mile radius and proceeds to shave every single hair off your head with its screaming, venomous bassline. More surreal scenes persist throughout the EP... Review: Flap them if you got them; Ego Trippin take flight with more of their off-the-wall styles on 'Bird Brain'. Following their rather choicely titled EP last month 'Disco Minge' comes this ornithological slap-about. The EP title track takes the high frequency bass style to silly new levels, 'Citadel Of Darkness' hits hard with mid 2000s D*Minds or Hazard while 'Right To Kill' is a super funky contemporary take on jump-up with glitches and switches galore before 'Tribal Drum' closes the EP with some head-scratchingly twisted flips and boosts. Forget Red Bull, it's music like this that gives you proper wings!

Review: Ego Trippin is the duo behind many a naughty, furious roller with a giant, attitude filled bassline. They've a certain quality to their music which I don't think many can pull off, that truly angry, aggressive pulsation to the edges of low frequencies. They're landing on Super Lit, a label whose sound is well suited, with this heavy hitting EP. The title track has a unique structure and well-rounded percussion which sits below the main affairs, a gargantuan, pummelling main bass patch which warps in and out of the arrangement perfectly. 'Praying Mantis' is a chopping, stabby little thing that also rolls out in tidy fashion, each hit of the main bass line sounding exquisite in its punchiness. Yes boys.

Review: Ego Trippin has been doing absolute bits for quite a while now and this forthcoming four-tracker for Super Lit is a reminder that his ability to craft moody beats is right out of the top draw. The title track, 'Jelly Grots', exemplifies this best and moody doesn't begin to cover the grasping force of this track, a lows-heavy and ego-light rendition of pure dancefloor energy, with wobbling synths providing the backdrop for a remorseless escape into clubland. Tickets ready please and leave your baggage on the door. The other cuts move the release over into jump-up territory, and it's the think-break rolls of 'Dib Dab' which will leave you most out of breath. Wicked stuff.

Review: Ego Trippin is part of the incredibly healthy jump-up scene at the moment, part of the next generation of artists on that side of the scene coming through and re-energising not just jump-up, but the whole of D&B. Super Lit is one of the most prolific new labels in this movement and this new EP is their latest hellish piece of work. The beats here are big, bad and don't care about your feelings, with 'Close Encounter' exemplifying the approach taken: a big, riotous bassline with clipping synths edging in over the top. 'New Future' is more stuttering and breaky, with minimalist percussive taps leaving plenty of space for its honking, stabby bassline. Sick stuff.

Review: Hi Def are one of the most prolific jump-up labels around. We regularly feature their releases and they almost always smash it out of the park, this time being no different. Access All Areas is a fiery EP, featuring Ego Trippin, Filthy Habits and more, that epitomizes the type of jump-up, but also slightly different flavours as well, that, in more ways than one, has defined D&B over the past couple of years - no-nonsense, uncompromising and proudly nonchalant about what you think. It's just pure attitude, dancefloor-based music at its best and music that simply does what it wants, there's no pretentiousness or image-orientated concerns - it's just D&B. Big, big tunes.

First up the unstoppable T>I softens the distorted bark on Maji's 2015 "Pick 'Em Out" and adds a humming sub vibe, Ego Trippin take us back to Pacso's 2011 Pakistan adventure with a whole new savage riff on "Coastin Through Karachi" while Jayline kicks Dom and D's already KO-worthy "Rumble" into a whole new battlecage.
