Review: This latest offering from Leks is sounding very spicy indeed as we touch down on Straight Up Audio for four serious cage rattlers, perfect for turning up in the heat in the dance. We begin within the super-gnarly arrangement style of 'Scum Bag', combining furious LFO wobbles with industrial, classic sounding d&b drum breaks for good measure, before 'High Rollers' switches up the flavours once again with a much more unpredictable combination of growling reese textures and floating chords. Form here, some serious jump up heat as the chaotic drum switch ups and bubbling sub sweeps of 'Booty So Big' are pushed to the forefront of the mix to cause some serious damage', before the pin-pointed bass tabs and more minimal breaks of 'Bad Guy' are unleashed to round the project off in style. This one is super weighty to say the least.

Review: We're back on a Leks flex! Having previously appeared on various Four Corners VAs (among many other labels, including his own Big & Heavy) Leks now returns to Melinki's label with his own EP. Five tracks in total, it's one of his most comprehensive dispatches so far. Essential hitters include the late 90s style grunt and grizzle of 'Sprinkler', the sleek minimal make-up and deathly bass plunges of 'Wall Walking' and the dubby shimmers of 'Changes'. That's just a fraction of what's on offer here. Leks sells.

Review: Flex your pecks for Leks! Owner of Big & Heavy Recordings, recent provider of stinkers on Four Corners and Program and all-round badman, here he is on Dutty Bass Audio with three absolute weapons. 'My Sound' flexes with a shiny, dubby sheen and a cool vocal sample, 'Badman Sound' takes us up about 10 gears with its grizzly all-out bassline (which wouldn't have gone amiss on Ram in the early 2000s) while 'Tell Dem' finishes the EP on more of a stripped-back and swinging jungle tip, all subs and crisp breaks. Leksual healing.

Review: One of the regular labels we feature are Maad Ting, a wicked little imprint that puts out a diverse sound ranging from techy rollers to jump-up steppers and even liquidy numbers. This week they've arrived with an EP from Leks who, across three tracks, spans various tones and styles, all of them rooted in a sense of dancefloor aggressiveness and all of them top-notch. 'Chat So Much' is a highlight, its rolling percussive line isn't the paciest but is loping and satisfying, whilst a gargling bass and sweeping subs sit just above and inject all the force and pair perfectly with the ragga sample. 'Gas Dem' is breaksy badness, whilst 'Blue Mountain' stretches out the bassline nicely. Top stuff.
