Review: In the world of jungle music, producer duos don't get a lot more dynamic or historic than Nucleus and Paradox. The pair have released on some of the biggest labels about, including the mighty Metalheadz, and their ability to craft jungle music with genuine depth never ceases to stay fresh and exciting. 'Volantis' proves that in exceptional style, a drawn-out, atmospheric intro never reaches fever pitches because it doesn't need to; this one is all about the journey, not the finale. 'Electropia' is equally as stunning and equally as thought-provoking, featherweight jungle drums contrast with the usual heaviness in uniquely glorious fashion, and the obscenely good vocal sampling is the final touch. An exceptionally good release from some exceptionally good producers.

Review: Paradox & Nucleus - surely one of the most consistent and innovative partnerships in drum & bass history - return to Headz with two time-spanning/stretching/defying EPs that dig deep into their history while staring into the future. Mako takes the lead with an update on their 2005 cosmic b-boy cut "Twelve Bits" with more emphasis and rolls on the breaks. It's backed by a fresh original from the main men themselves; a crisp stepper with droning pads and a purring low end that really comes into its own on big systems. Absolutely no messing around here at all. But did you expect anything less?

Review: Feel the "Wrath" of the legendary drumfunk innovators Nucleus and Paradox! 20 years after their first partnerships on Reinforced, the pair continue to push sonic time and space in directions it's not supposed to go. "Wrath" is the perfect example of restraint as a series of devilish textures and basses worm and writhe their way around a loose, almost jazzy two-step but never overcrowd or overtake. Next up: a samurai-sharp update on their 2005 Headz classic "Aragon" where a new arrangement and a higher definition of cause a spike of the senses in the true iced out style that both Nucleus, Paradox and Headz have championed since day one.

As the pioneer of drum-funk and easily one of the most consistently creative members of the drum and bass scene, Paradox continues to surprise. Working together once more for a fresh release on Metalheadz, "Break North" is already becoming a solid in the dark-minimal underground with its perfectly poised drums and on point percussion. And, tactical roller "Blade 9" is heavy enough to rule the underworld of where its sounds come from - watch yourself.

Review: Timeless drum and bass is what Paradox Music is all about and Paradox returns to the scene in his own renegade b-boy style with "Rockdown". Bringing back that old school taste for low and mean bass paired with necksnapping breaks and chopped hip-hop, there's a lot to take in here. How can the past still sound this good? "Divination" takes more inspiration from the present day despite those Paradox give-away beats, opting for deep, dangerous bass and minimal stylings culminating in a dark and deadly masterclass in underground drum and bass.

Review: "Delusions" by itself is a ballsy rush through warehouse atmosphere and deep, thundering bass. What else did you expect from the man like Seba, especially when paired with the ice cold mentality of Paradox? It's a kind-of industrial-meets-old school sound and we're all into it. Finally released on Seba's weighty Secret Operations label after teasing fans for months, "Future Now" is on the flip, placing on-point production alongside darkly rumbling bass and cymbal-heavy percussion.
