Review: SATL hasn't been in the production business for long but he's already hitting the nail on the head when it comes to rolling out instant classics. There's something about liquid drum and bass from the Eastern edges of Europe in its ability to meld influences from around the world with the colder, more technical sounds of Russia and beyond. Standout track "My Woman" uses intricate beats and repetitive piano loops to create something wildly different, and this release provides much more needed music from a new name on the rise.

Review: Presenting two gorgeous liquid rollers reformed and remixed especially for you. From the lush tones of Tokalosh's remix of the soft "Blue Velvet" to the jazz-funk infused melodies of "Why Wake Me Up" remixed by Soul:Motion for Modu, these are two very different tracks borne out of the same love for musical, soulful drum and bass. Fresh sounding and full of life, both tracks manage to pull out of the liquid drum and bass circuit and move into a more sophisticated, individual sub genre of their own.

Review: Happiest when behind the decks, Duoscience has been a staple name in the Brazilian soul D&B scene for some time now. Releasing his first tracks on the legendary Good Looking Records label before adding his tunes to scores of others from the full spectrum of drum and bass, this release comes straight from Inform. A mixture of straight-up soulful numbers and more experimental jazzy flirtations, it's an EP of highs and more highs because there ain't no downbeat melancholy here. This is the brainchild of a man living by late night dancefloors and sun-drenched terrace bars and there ain't nothing wrong with that.

Kicking off with Bristolian Modu who's been known to make some of the freshest liquid sounds around for the past 12 months, the EP switches to a beautiful rolling tune from newcomer Telex. Review: Beat Gates delivers a scintillating four-tracker on the Inform imprint which is full of lilting melodies, deftly placed beats and shimmying SFX. Opening with the murmuring, cinematic intro of "Underground Sunset", it's all urbane sultriness before we are led into "Mellove" with its pared down soundscape and booming sub bass. Next is "Lessons Of Life" which takes a didactic tone but is actually full of chirruping melodies and sweet harmonies. Bringing things to a delightful close is "Dream Trip" with its hazy atmospherics and drifting rhythms.

Review: Arriving just in the nick of time to soundtrack London's (no doubt short lived) heatwave, D&B imprint Inform drop this six track Summer Selection features smooth, refined cuts from the likes of Soul Connection, Kasper, Pennygiles and Mr Joseph & Imagery. It's the latter pair who impress most with the silky sax-led liquid roller "Too Late", although Kasper's half-stepper "Zealous" and Soul Connection's dubby "Losers" are both well worth checking too.
