Review: Planet Rhythm can always be relied on to deliver high-quality dance floor techno, and this split EP is a case in point. Kmyle's "Misanthrop" kick starts the release, with resonating drums and tight percussion making for an accessible, house-focused take on loopy techno. On "Jtpc 003", Joton & Positive Centre opt for a harder approach, with a pile-driving rhythm and lead-weight kicks combined for a heady combination. On "Lack of Control", Deep Dimension combine discordant tonal riffs with firing, sheet metal percussion to create an effective peak time track, while Yan Cook shows why he is one of Europe's most highly ratted producers with the swirling filters and pumping groove of "Displaced".

Review: Yan Cook's relationship with Planet Rhythm stretches back five years, and his latest four-tracker serves as a reminder as to why he features regularly on the storied label. "Order" is a lean, linear rhythm, powered by doubled-up claps and metallic riffs, making for a highly effective peak-time track. On the aptly-named "Worm", Cook rides a mesmerising, frazzled groove that is equal parts Mike Parker's tonal experiments and the frazzled bass of Laurent Garnier's "Crispy Bacon". On the title track, Cook adds some fuzzy acid to his lean rhythms, while "Lucid" sees him go deeper, with frozen chords underpinned by a locked groove.

Review: Planet Rhythm can always be relied upon to shine a light on emerging techno talent, and this split release is no exception. Albert Salvatierra delivers "Modern Warfare", where a jacking analogue rhythm supports electronic bleeps and repetitive vocal samples. In contrast, Ricciardo deploys layer upon layer of searing acid and soaring bass on "Calm Before The Storm" in the process sounding like a modern version of Emmanuel Top's trance-techno. While Vegim's "Ark" is a dusty, minimal house shuffler, on "Transit", Lenfloot picks up the pace to deliver a building, hypnotic groove, while RNGD's "Lala" is a more understated affair, thanks to its spaced out filters and loose drum patterns.

Review: Following releases on labels like ARTS and Pushmaste, Domenico Petrosino aka Earwax debuts on the seminal Planet Rhythm imprint. The title track is a tough percussive workout underpinned by abrasive kicks and otherworldly chord stabs, while "Dry Sound" is harder and faster, with the Italian producer dropping hard as nails drums and screeching industrial riffs that are filtered deftly over rasping percussion. Clearly, Petrosino has taken inspiration from late 90s techno from Italy, and nowhere is this more apparent than on "This Tool", a scorching, rolling looped affair, its piledriving hi hats and noisy riffs sounding redolent of vintage Gaetek. Meanwhile, on "Heisenberg", he drops a searing acid line and nightmarish synths that will have maximum dance floor impact.

Review: Stephen Disario kicks starts his debut release on Planet Rhythm with the aptly-named "Rave". Built on solid kicks, he drops wave upon wave of noisy rave riffs over this cast-iron backing. On the title track, he teams up with Uakoz for a different proposition; resounding to steely hats and a deftly filtered rhythm, powerful chords surge up through the arrangement, creating a dramatic finale. "Auric" sees Disario shift style once again, as jittery drums support a pitched down vocal and choppy riffs, while on "Drifting", the emerging US producer integrates dub elements into his propulsive rhythm. Still, the end result remains the same - delivering impactful, peak-time tracks.

Review: Marla Singer teams up with Javi Lago to deliver the follow up release to last year's Phase 1-4 EP on Planet Rhythm."Blank Word 01" sees the pair take influence from Mike Parker and Sandwell District as they deliver a hypnotic slice of techno that leads the listener into a darkened tunnel, accompanied only by a series of electronic bleeps and blips. "02" adopts a similar approach, albeit with eerie synths and a steely riff guiding the way, while the third "Blank Word" sees the duo deploy a murky bass to support their adventures in multi-textured sound design. The fourth and final iteration is deeper than the others, but with an understated hint of menace at its centre.
