Review: James Denny may not get the media coverage of some of his contemporaries, but his track record - which includes singles on REKIDS, Hot Creations and Crosstown Rebels - is exemplary. It makes sense, then, that Shall Not Fade boss Kieran Williams has added him to the label's ever-expanding roster. Opener 'Dans La Nuit', a charging and sample-rich slab of peak-time house joy rich in jazzy guitar licks, bouncy beats and 'Knights of the Jaguar' sty;e synth strings, is the pick of a very strong bunch, but the other two tracks on show are excellent too. King Crowney collaboration 'Dance With Me' is a sizzling and humid, percussion-and-trumpet-heavy slab of Latin house hedonism, while 'Anni 80' sees him create hands-aloft gold out of unfussy house beats and synth-heavy samples from a long-forgotten 1980s treat.

Review: Although it might still be too soon to call Texan producer DJ Poolboi a legend, his music is certainly starting to lean the way of legendary, with lo-fi house the artist's trademark. It's the boi's third album in four years across three labels and first on Shall Not Fade in which he's become something of a figure head, and Into The Blue Light signals potential for AOTY (Album of the Year). Filled with deep and impactful emotion, melancholy and warmth, it's a long player that pulls at the heart-strings while firing up the dancefloor with chords, keys and melodies that hit those sweet spots, while booming in kick, bass and drums. Highlights include opener, "Won't Let You Ruin My Mood", the pop-aqua rave of "For The Last Time" and some piano-driven Moby inspirations in "The Joy You Once Felt".

Review: Following years spent flitting between labels including Toy Tonics and Razor N Tape Reserve, COEO make their bow on Shall Not Fade. In keeping with the Bristol label's approach to digital releases, it's an expansive and action-packed affair. Title track 'Planet Earth' is one of the Munich-based duo's more forthright cuts to date - a thrusting, bongo-laden techno tempo rave workout propelled forwards by an insanely good (and rubbery) electronic bassline and psychedelic acid lines aplenty - while 'Satellite Bay' sounds like a cross between early '90s synth-pop, Kraftwerk and Euro-dance. Elsewhere, 'Rush Hour' gloriously joins the dots between hip-house, vintage MK productions and the Pet Shop Boys' Relentless' album; 'Kawasaki Racing Club' combines breakbeats and early UK progressive house sounds; and 'The Stage Is Yours' is a head-nodding, midtempo acid breaks affair.

Review: Shall Not Fade has reached the ripe old age of eight, a cause for celebration in these troubled times for artists and labels. To mark the occasion, the Bristol-based imprint has offered up this vast, 34-track compilation featuring new and unheard cuts from its ever-expanding family of artists. Naturally, it not only reflects Shall Not Fade's output, but also that of its various offshoots and series. So, there's plenty of high-grade deep house and immersive, breakbeat-driven deepness, but also surging, high-tempo rave-era nostalgia (see the tracks by TESTPRESS and Sheffield sorts Adelphi Music Factory), bassline (ABSOLUTE & HRSN), futurist techno (Marc Brauner), deep electro (Halo), hip-hop revivalism (Lydia Eisenbatter), progressive house and trance-influenced loveliness (MNL), and much more besides.

Review: After a run of releases on his own SlothAcid imprint, Sacha Robotti makes his bow on Bristol-based Shall Not Fade. Interestingly, it features a clutch of collaborations, JSMN adding dead-eyed, stylised spoken word vocals to the hands-aloft, increasingly percussive piano house rush of 'U+I', before Tessla joins Robotti on two tracks: the swirling electronics, restless builds and energetic releases of 'That Feelin' and the more warped, heavyweight and mind-mangling peak-time sweat of 'Be Your Baby'. Elsewhere, 'All I Know' is another rushing, seemingly colossal slab of mid-90s piano house energy, and 'Deeper Love' sees Robotti make merry with a classic house acapella, heavy house drums and raw bass.

Review: Introducing MNL. aka the artists formally known as My Nu Leng. With a rich history spanning 12 years, Tommy Jackson and Jammo Irving embark on a 'new chapter' introducing experimental electronic vibes under the MNL. moniker. Their For The Longest Time EP on Shall Not Fade offers a glimpse into the pair's newfound evolution. The first single taken from it "Somerset Drift" expertly blends elements of techno, garage, and breaks, crafting a distinctive UK underground sound with chopped vocals. "So True" showcases a crowd-pleasing fusion of garage, jungle, drum and bass, breaks, and dubstep, encapsulating the duo's commitment to their original roots, while "Lesson Learned" featuring Collette Warren pins down a straight up 2-step groove with classic UK-inspired vocals. Review: Still reeling from the release of his debut LP Between Fragments last year - Cologne-based artists Kolter, something of house music mainstay, brings his sound to Shall Not Fade for the first time. Turning in a luscious four track EP, it brings with it one-and-a-half collaborations, the first being the lead cut - "Please Come To My Show" - with Leo Pol, who not only co-produces but also lends his soulful vocals to the mix; with the second being a remix from Berlin house darling Cinthie of the track "Up In The Sky". With a strong '90s mid-west and Chicago sound permeating this EP, get deep and smoove with "DX7 Together" with that real town funk bassline and undeniable deepness. Welcome back Kolter.

Review: After inviting us to stay 'Out All Night' on his 2022 Shall Not Fade label debut, Fred P has decided to soundtrack a deep house 'Day Break' on his welcome return to the prolific Bristol imprint. He begins with 'High Rise', where swirling chords, gentle piano motifs and a booming bassline rise above a locked-in house beat, before taking us deeper into immersive, bass-heavy deep house hypnotism on the exceptional 'Only Subs'. 'Get It On' is a more sweat-soaked affair marked out by low register acid lines, energy-packed drums and short melodic loops, while the 'Rhythms In The Place Beats Edit' of 'Only Subs' offers a dancefloor dub style tribal house workout for those who love percussion and mind-mangling, effects-laden vocal samples.

Review: Almost three years to the day from his last outing for Shall Not Fade, a contribution to their occasional 'Basement Trax' series, Huxley returns to KW's prolific imprint with a rock-solid four-track EP. The long-serving producer kicks things off in style via 'Cuttin' Corners', a bouncy, jazzy and breezy chunk of UKG-influenced deep house warmth, before opting for a darker, more excitable and warehouse-ready sound on certified throb-job 'Give Me Love'. Arguably even better is the tracky, hypnotic and percussion-rich deep tribal house number 'MYHEART', which is the kind of thing we think Junior Vasquez could have played at the Sound Factory, while 'Love Lifting' is a swirling, stomping, all-action treat.

Review: Three years on from his last EPs of note - a tidy 12" on INFUSE and an overlooked EP on his own Salty Nuts label - Fabian "Fabe" Winkels finally returns to action via an expansive Shall Not Fade label debut. Review: As her relatively recently Heist and Aus releases proved, Cinthie Christl has become an expert at creating nostalgic-sounding tracks that offer subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) references to US house cuts of the 1990s. On this debut Shall Not Fade outing, Christl continues in this vein, first via the rolling beats, undulating analogue bass and spacey musical motifs of 'Tough Times'. She then joins the dots between late '90s Strictly Rhythm dubs and bouncy New Jersey garage grooves ('Shuffle & Swing'), before laying down a stellar slice of dubby and sub-heavy deep house hypnotism ('Bossa').'Time To F', a breezy and sun-splashed affair marked out by steppers-influenced deep house beats, squelchy bass and restless riffs, rounds of the EP in fine style.

Review: Whenever a new Shall Not Fade drop arrives in the store, the crowds tend to gather and the excitement rises drastically, with this latest two tracker offering from Duke Boara being another experimental dive across the UKG spectrum. We open up with the warbling bassline action and blissful soundscaping of 'Brain Theory', a weighty title track that explores not only hard hitting subby-pressure, but also a vibrant backdrop of synth pads and unorthodox melody. On the flip to this, we then jump into 'Sapphire', a higher energy scuttler, focussed in floating synthy flutters and booming chord progressions for a much more abstract b-side. Very tidy!

The album consists of 11 dynamic tracks, each one a gem in its own right, taking the listener on a journey through different moods and atmospheres. They're in confident, all-action mode from the word go, peppering a funk-fuelled breakbeat with new age ambient melodies, mutant bass and eyes-closed female vocals on lead cut 'Hooked', before exploring dreamier and more psychedelic breakbeat house pastures on 'Rise Up' (check the speed garage influenced bassline that drops midway through). Review: New on Shall Not Fade this week is the latest offering by ascendant Belfast-based talent Robbie Doherty, hot off recent releases on Meta, PIV and Oldskool. The Sick n' Tired EP features five upfront cuts aimed squarely at the dancefloor; there's some tripped-out party staring retro techno on the title track, he then channels in to that second summer of love vibe on the euphoric rave nostalgia of "Dream Of Me", (which benefits from a much needed extended mix later on) and rolling deep on the smooth house flavor of "Tantrum".

Review: Early in her bourgeoning career, Amy Dabbs' jungle-influenced music was championed by Special Request and found its way onto the flash drives of all manner of hot DJs. On 'The Bobcat Special', Dabbs re-focuses on house music, offering up a quartet of peak-time-ready cuts seeped in classic house nostalgia. She sets the tone via the cascading melodies, thickset synth bass, crunchy drums and sustained piano riffs of 'Dandelion Theory', before cannily combining wobbly speed garage bass, stomping beats, dreamy chords and effects-laden spoken word snippets on 'Know My Mind'. This seventh birthday edition - the label's fifth compilation in total - is another epic, with 28 high quality tracks jostling for your attention. The track listing reflects the label's eclectic but largely dancefloor-focused approach, with highlights including the stomping big room techno darkness of Alan Fitzpatrick and Reset Robot's 'Alpha', the organ-rich New Jersey style peak-time house bump of Lis Sarocca's 'Oasis Floor', the bumpin' speed garage revivalism of 'All The Girls' by Main Phase, the warped, MC-sporting two-step wobble of Killjoy and Kwam's 'Active', and the deep and dreamy breaks/two-step fusion of 'Overcome' by Adam BFD.

Review: Following a handful of choice releases on Housewax, Local Talk and her own Bisexuality Exists Records, Dasco makes her bow on esteemed Bristol imprint Shall Not Fade. The Berlin-based Israeli is in prime form on title track 'Powerful Woman', a forceful acid roller propelled forwards by a relentless TB-303 line, clattering TR-909 drums and flashes of trippy synth sounds. It comes backed by raw, squelchy and breathless jack-track 'Acid Queen' and two fab remixes of 'Powerful Woman': a techno meets 'Behaviour'-era Pet Shop Boys chunk of bittersweet deepness from Johannes Volk, and a thrillingly distorted, lo-fi acid-electro revision courtesy of Chicago Skyway. Review: With garage becoming one of the most popular areas of underground dance music again over the past few years, it is important for producers to be able to stand out among the crowd. This latest offering from the Shall Not Fade crew sees Ramu arrive with a feature length LP project, exploring the best of both garage and breaksy goodness with this 11 track adventure. From the acidic backdrops of 'Ignite' and glistening atmospheric jangles of 'This Creature', to the shuffling percussive patterns of 'Is It Ok' and super digitised designs of 'Soarr, Ramu covers a tonne of ground in a relatively short space of time. Our highlights from this heavyweight selection would include the swampy yet charming synthetic sweeps of 'Timetravels', next to more hard-house inspired drum designs of 'Helix', letting loose more acidic shivers for your eardrums to enjoy. Lovely stuff!
