Review
The Drop Out Sounds crew returns with another solid selection of raw disco and electrofunk edits. The "live" element of the title clearly refers to the rolling, often densely layered added percussion added to a number of the tracks, most notably the horn-heavy "Freebie". It's a trick that works well, and gives what are basically dancefloor-friendly disco dubs an extra kick. There's a delay-laden dubbiness to the electrofunk cuts on display, with "Stockholm" in particular standing out (see also "Une Guerriere"). The real killer, though, is the near 15-minute smooth groove that is "Feelin' It", a veritable disco-soul epic.Get new release alerts
