Review: As always with the legendary V Recordings, we are in for a certified thrill ride here as we dive head first into a wash of bassy goodness from both Melinki & Macca as the pair unveil their brand new project. The title track sees them jump immediately into a three way collaborative endeavour however as the knuckle dusting bass riffs and crunchy sub thrusts of 'Bad Trip' sees Alibi join the party for an explosive introduction. From here, 'Murder Situation' then looms upon the horizon, slicing together sizzling reesey synthesizer textures with high intensity drum skips and constantly shifting backdrop for a very tidy sonic experience. Finally, 'Raptor' is set loose, a blooming soundscape of 80's like synth slides, cascading into a thunderous chorus of booming 808 pulses, all tied together with some tidy breaksy sampling. Exceptional work.

He's backed up all the way by key label friends and affiliates: Facing Jinx and Soligen get all dreamy on the dark subby roller "So Much To Do" while Dexcell weave multiple instrument layers with sweeping waves of emotion above a pretty dark, foreboding bassline. Review: Macca & Loz Contreras have been on a roll ever since they dropped their debut album just over a year ago, with Thinking Of You their second full-length EP on Bcee's Spearhead imprint. The pair have gained a reputation for funky, rolling and sample-laden liquid numbers and this EP is no different, with 'Feel My Soul' being a deft, Perez-esque piece of sonic construction that gets the EP off to a cracking start. Title tune 'Thinking Of You' is in a similar vein, and it's final track 'The Dream' and it's soaring string sections and soulful stabs that really has us excited. Lovely work here.

Review: Frequent sonic sparring partners (but killer solo acts in their own rights too) UK roller conjurers Macca & Loz Contreras return to Spearhead with four stone cold charmers. "I Need You" is an instant heart-melter with a big swooping string sample and loin girding vocals, "Lost Origins" is a delicate piano primer with heaps of space for singer-of-the-moment Becca Jane Grey, "You Want Me, You Need Me" takes us on an introspective tip with heavy filters on another soul stirring sample while "Don't Give Up" brings this session to a close with lavish disco feels that aren't dissimilar to early 2000s Hospital. Beautiful.

Review: One of Fokuz's many success stories, Macca returns from his SGN adventures to the Dutch imprint with four evergreen work-outs. "Artifact", a sinewy stepper laced with an exquisite alien squirming b-line, sets the tone as "Intelligence" follows with a Critical-like thump-and grind wriggle and "What" shocks-out with a 1.21giggawatt high voltage bassline and some cracking rim shots. If that's not enough, he's also VIP'd the dickens out of last year's "Switch". Tunnelling business.

Review: It would be fair to say that Macc and Loz Contreras have made something a splash in the D&B scene since first joining forces back in 2013. It's also true that few contemporary producers are capable of delivering such musically rich, soul-flecked liquid funk. Their trademark sound - rolling breaks, sparkling electronic, carefully selected samples and melodies aplenty - is much in evidence throughout this fine debut album, which gathers together both previously released singles and previously unheard fare. Highlights come thick and fast, from the disco-sampling dancefloor bliss of "Better World" and the sun-soaked brilliance of bass-heavy carnival roller "Wanna Be Your Lover", to the sub-heavy assault that is "Switch". A handful of remixes from other artists - including liquid soul mate S.P.Y - complete a quality package.

Review: Come on, were you expecting anything less than sheer beauty from these guys? A collection of shimmering, hazy-toned tunes set to ready even the most pessimistic soul for a summer of gorgeous sun and good times, it's really something special. "Always Yours" shines on over glistening harmonies and crystal clear percussion, moving into funkier territory as "Wanna BE Your Lover" picks up a bassline to die for. "Something Special" continues that jazzy feel as guitar and strings collide to create a real soulful D&B gem. Finally, "One Touch" crashes back to present day with a boom, pushing crisp, clean production and melancholy melodies.

Review: Some beautiful new liquid from some of Celsius Recordings' fresh new upstarts and first tune "New Beginnings" is a gorgeously rich roller. Plushly bassed with a touch of tantalisingly crisp atmospherics glimmering in the middle distance, this track shimmers. "Nothing To Prove" is equally well-produced but packs a little more bassy punch. Deeper and more melancholy, this is the one you'd close your set with. Bring the atmosphere.

Review: As far from the quaint old Beatle as you can get (unless you believe that weird old rumour about him discovering SL2's 'On A Ragga Tip'), this Macca is a hotly rising member of Wolverhampton's StayFresh crew. Here he goes solo in an inventive 2-step homage that features slick orchestral flourishes and eccentric keyboard melodies. Oh, and some killer rhymes that name check the likes of G-Star and er, Primark. Elsewhere "I Do Me" is assertive grimey hip-hop.

Review: Vector and Macca join forces on Celsius and bring us the Autumn EP. Getting things started is the collaborative cut "Autumn" which sees the pair bring in the talents of 3quent too - expect gentle, lilting atmospherics here with crisp breaks and murmuring bass booms. Next is the awe-inspiring "Celestial" with its sweeping atmospherics and eerie excellence, before Vecca goes solo for the murmuring "Days Gone By" with its sparkling SFX and jungle breaks. Last of all, Vector brings the EP to a close with the glorious bass-driven roller "After You Go". Stylish stuff here from Vector & Macca.

Review: Next up and Influenza Media bring us another cracking four-track EP from Lapse, Macca, Scott Allen, Paul SG, Carter and Rowpieces. Kicking off with the title track "What Lies Ahead" its all swooning instrumentals in the manner of Hospital, rolling breaks and lilting, mellifluous melodies galore. Moving through this blissful haze to "Life's Complex", Macca & Scott Allen's collab is an infectiously fun little romp with punchy breaks and echoing vocal element. Next we have "Untake" which takes things on a slightly tougher tip with pummeling drums and booming subs, before the lovely "Cool Jazz" rounds things off in style.
