Conrad Subs & Speaker Louis - "Shots Fired" - (4:36) 58 BPM
Played by: AGENT K, MR ALF-E
Review: Next up from the ever-ready Liondub International, a throwback filled to the brim with lethal flavours as Conrad Subs touches down to deliver four tracks of pure dancefloor fire. We open up with the unpredictable synthetic twitches and reesey rumbles of 'Rave Report', setting the tone of the project nicely before 'Dough' gives us a more minimal fusion of growling bass notes and sharpened drum designs. Next, 'Big Chungus' opens up the roof for an even harder hitting sub-line, upping the ante even further as we move forward, with Speaker Louis providing some additional work on the well thought out rhythmic arrangements of 'Shots Fired'. Another tidy collection from the Liondub dynasty.

30 Years Of V - EP 2
Krust - "Not Necessarily A Man" (L-Side VIP) - (4:35) 174 BPM
Alibi & A-Audio - "Middlemen" - (5:12) 175 BPM Hot
Level 2 - "Bite The Bone VIP" - (4:36) 170 BPM
Review: V is for victory! Bryan Gee and Jumpin Jack Frost's label continues to mark three whole decades with the second volume of their 30 Years VA. First up is a VIP of L-Side's already flattening remix of Krust's 'Not Necessarily A Man' before Alibi and A-Audio go toe-to-toe on the soulful bruiser 'Middlemen' where a big funk sample gets battered into submission but an equally stunning Reese. Last but not least Level 2 closes the EP down with another VIP treat - 'Bite The Bone'. Woof woof!

Review: Fresh from delivering an EP of nostalgic 'Club Specials' on regular home Wolf Music Recordings, Frits Wentink returns to Clone's Royal Oak imprint for the first time since 2020. Title track 'Spiritual Basslines' - which is available in 'Club Mix' and 'Extended Mix' variations - follows a similar sonic template to the Amsterdam stalwart's most recent releases, adding classic deep house sounds to the kind of skippy, loose-limbed groove most often found on late '90s US garage releases. Highlights elsewhere across the EP include the vintage Nu Groove-influenced excellence of 'Eternity', the dub house meets-nu-disco shuffle of 'Golf Cart Joyride', and the deliciously deep, dusty and dubby shuffle of 'Olympiad'.

Review: Doctor, doctor, I feel like a firework. Put some bangers on then, pal. Doctor, doctor I feel like a reload. Come again? Doctor doctor I can't stop spitting bars. Then stop eating nightclubs. All jokes aside, Doctor Roberts is not actually your typical healthcare professional. He'll cure you but it'll be with dutty bass and high energy tear-ups rather than medicines or modern science. The toxic waste electro thrills of the title track will have you doing dancefloor surgery, cutting up the place with your sharp moves. The groaning filthy reese of 'Wheel & Come' will have you sweating out your fever in a jiffy and 'Nice Guy' will clear any migraine thanks to its precision drum clarity. Pull yourselves together!

Review: Bennie's bullets keep on firing from all angles as the Welshman returns to Invicta with this absolutely huge collabo-splattered collection of dancefloor melters. Featuring the likes of Latte, Eyez, Scuffed and Junior Dog, Bennie flexes the whole range right here: Eyez brings lyrical savagery on the opening cut 'Turn It Up' while Junior Dog goes in hard on the swagger-packed finale 'Different'. In between these two poles standout cuts include the EDM-spiked 'Good Liar' and the Latte-linked tear-up 'Straight Outta London'. Crank it.

Review: Buckle up, because Particle is taking us on one wild ride with his latest album "Pyro" on Critical Music. This 10-track juggernaut is a full-throttle excursion through the gnarliest terrain of jungle and drum & bass. Right from the jump on the opening cut, Particle flexes his funky bassline muscles to get things properly greased up. But don't get too comfortable - by the closing VIP remix he's dropped the hammer and has the whole thing redlining in the most deliriously unhinged way. This is an artist operating at the peak of his powers, seamlessly blending classic jungle/D&B fundamentals with meticulously futuristic production chops. There's something for the old-school heads and fresh recruits alike on this album. Longtime jungalists will get misty-eyed over the cavernous subs and proving garage-bred breaks of tracks like "Fooling." But Particle also caters to the new-age barneys on tunes such as "Assassin" and "Needles" complete with enough manic robotic contortions to have you rapidly evacuating your flesh vessel. Not one to rest on his laurels, Particle keeps things utterly weird too. "REM" is a deliciously unhinged descent into stuttering jungle psychedelia. And his link-up with Inja on "The Message" injects a taut, nerve-shredding atmospherics that'll have you sweating through three layers of merino wool. Don't sleep on this one, ravers.

DJ Deep - "What's Going On" - (6:13) 124 BPM Hot
Avision - "Hold No Groove" - (5:56) 128 BPM
Deetron - "Pulse" - (6:36) 140 BPM
Review: Next up on Laurent Garnier's label is a split release that explores the deeper end of house and techno. DJ Deep is up first with "What's Going On". Powered by raw, tribal beats and featuring lush pads, it sounds like the veteran house head's tribute to Joe Clausell's organic sound. Avision's "Hold No Groove" is also inspired by house music, but on this occasion, Chicago rather than New York is referenced. Combining a snaking bass with busy, layered percussion, the result is mesmerising. Deetron ups the tempo but maintains a deep sound on "Pulse", its musical but insistent rhythm recalls classic Kenny Larkin.

The White Feather - (4:23) 175 BPM
Review: It's that thyme again! Filthy Habits are off to Tescos and heading straight for the condiment aisle for a little spice and seasoning. First up is 'Herb Deal', a bouncy bubbler that nods at the mid 2000s dancefloor sound and stinks of oregano. Elsewhere the tarragon-tinged 'Right Here' gets all switchy with its tear-out drops and bleepy flips while the swaggering Hazardian 'Brain Functions' will batter you will until you swear everything smells like dill. Deeper into the spice rack we reach for 'Disconnected' and shake our hips to the rattling rosemary scented loose limbed breaks while 'The White Feather' is a much colder, almost electro-informed stepper. It also reeks of parsley.

Seascape - (6:08) 125 BPM
Close To U - (6:05) 125 BPM
Exotica - (6:41) 125 BPM
Review: French producer DJ Steaw dives deep into the world of house music with his debut release on the legendary Nu Groove label, the aptly titled "Seascape EP." This four-track journey explores the producer's signature sound - think driving basslines and warm, soulful vibes - while incorporating a range of influences that keep things fresh. The EP kicks off with "Take It There," a powerful track that sets the tone with its pulsating stabs and undeniable groove. The title track, "Seascape," offers a beautiful contrast, layering airy pads over dynamic percussion, creating a dreamlike atmosphere on the dance floor. "Close To U" and "Exotica" further showcase DJ Steaw's versatility. Both tracks maintain a recognizable, nostalgic feel, perfect for those who appreciate classic deep house with a modern twist. They're undeniably club-ready, yet possess a quality that's equally suited for home listening.

Review: Following a slew of killer releases last year on the likes of Biological Beats, Program and Jungle Cakes, the currently unstoppable Jenks returns to Born On Road with two more addictive party-melters. 'Chimes' is one of those naggy tunes that are super fun to mix in over pretty much any blend and will always get a wild reaction while 'Frequency' gets even heavier with its ravey riff and drop into pure guttural gully. Power moves!

Crashin' Out - (6:42) 127 BPM
Review: While he never went away, it would be fair to say that DJ Sneak has enjoyed something of a career revival of late. This EP for Phonogramme follows strong recent outings for Heist Recordings, Hard Times and Toy Tonics. He begins in pleasingly bouncy and percussive mode on 'Let It Go', where warming stabs and hushed melodic motifs rise above a Kenny Dope style bumpin' house beat and deep, rich bass, before opting for a wonky, mind-mangling sound on title track 'Galactic Funk'. The Chicago veteran then gives it to us 'Soft & Ruff' - think rolling, locked-in grooves and slowly evolving melodic loops - while closing cut 'Crashin' Out' is a suitably sub-heavy slab of deep loop-house headiness.

Known for her passion for funk and rare grooves, Diggs infuses her NYC-inspired style into the remix, breathing new life into the track while paying homage to the golden era of music. Review: Feeling sleepy? Need a cosy little rest all cuddled up in your comfies? Well don't go asking GinX over... He'll sing you a 'Lullaby' so cold and deathly you might as well marry Freddy Kruger. Pure laser-infested grot, this vibe is carefully maintained throughout as GinX gets more and more twisted with his sound design and processed demonic vocals. Each cut painting from a similar sonic palette (think somewhere between Simula and Toxinate), there's a dark allure to the whole EP and a lot of great mixing potential. Rock-a-by me babbers!

Power Of One (extended mix) - (6:48) 123 BPM Hot
Review: Glitterbox Recordings strikes gold again with "Power of One," a powerhouse collaboration between Chicago house legend Kelly G. and the unmistakable vocals of Candi Staton. This release marks a meeting of titans, blending Kelly G.'s infectious productions with Staton's legendary gospel-soul voice. "Power of One" departs from the usual high-octane energy of Glitterbox releases. Instead, it simmers with a slow-burning funk groove, allowing space for Staton's vocals to take center stage. Kelly G.'s masterful production underpins the track, with infectious basslines and tasteful keyboard flourishes creating a perfect bed for Staton's soulful delivery.

Review: It's an exciting thing indeed to see the super consistent production talents of Vital Techniques landing on the legendary DJ EZ's Nuvolve imprint, unleashing three emotive bubblers for the dances to enjoy. First up, a dizzying display of synthetic mastery and fiery double drops as 'In My Head' takes the centre stage. From here, a more groove-inspired approach on 'Run It' as we face a sumptuous sweeping combination of grinding synthesisers and unpredictable drum crashes, before 'Show Me Your Love' takes hard hitting 4x4 drum punches and emotive vocal lines for a killer closer.

Turbotito, Ragz & Manjeet Kondal - "Pyaar" (edit) - (3:14) 95 BPM
Review: Billed as a "tribute to the forgotten late '80s/early '90s era of Bhangra influenced by house, dub and hip-hop", this expansive collection boasts fresh remixes of tracks from Manjeet Kondal's 1986 album 'Holle Holle', and a fresh cut featuring vocal samples from that set. Mr Scruff steps up to provide the remixes, offering four passes on 'Ishkaan de Mamie': a deliciously jacking, proto house-meets-acid house full vocal remix that lasts for just a shade under 10 mesmerising minutes, a sleazy and percussive 'Instrumental Dub', an alternative 'Vocal Strip Down' take with added TB-303 tweaks, and a tidy 'Edit'. Turbotito and Ragz deliver 'Pyaar', a brilliant slab of late '80s style Bhangra/hip-hop fusion with added acid lines. The 'Lovey Dubby Dub' is a sensational alternative pass that's arguably better than the duo's original mix.

Lovebirds channel their well-regarded love for 70s and 80s sounds into a groovy production. The foundation is an arresting funk beat, bolstered by classic disco instrumentation and dreamy synths. NILE's vocals are the perfect compliment, with a motivational spoken-word style that adds another layer of interest. The package is completed by a remix from disco aficionado Birdee, who takes the original's sparkling energy and adds their own signature touch. Birdee's remix is an upbeat and spacey take, perfect for extending the dancefloor journey.

Review: The legendary Kerri Chandler and his Kaoz Theory label (ode to that priceless 1998 album) turns in a remix and dub package of Antonio Deep Scarano & Toshi's "Kuyo (In Everything)". For the uninitiated ADS is an Italian house music industry man known for his collaborative streak - hooking up with vocalist Toshi for a second time here. With the Kerri Chandler touch, the duo's infectious single gets a full remix treatment that across the board draws upon the purest of house sentiments, meant for warm and worldly times, taking in '90s new age and piano house with percussion, drum machines and basslines to boot. Chandler of course goes large but not OTT in his vocal and dub mixes, next to a pumping warehouse version by Antony Reale, Pietro Nicosia's clubby tribalisms and Salvatore Oppio's barqoue remake too!

Review: Reel People Music's annual Soulful, Deep & Dope compilations always deliver exactly what the title promises, namely club-focused jams of the most positive, musically expansive and spiritually enriching kind. This year's edition is a particularly potent collection, with 20 tried-and-tested tracks to devour. Highlights are naturally plentiful, from the tech-tinged deep house soulfulness of Mark Francis's remix of Opolopo and Angela Johnson's 'Stay This Way', and Glenn Underground's wonderfully musically expansive revision of Harold Matthews Jr and Sean McCabe's 'This Place', to the sunset-ready wonder of Matthew Brandy's 'Wish' (featuring an impeccable vocal performance by Josh Milan) and the soulful deep house brilliance of Atjazz and Shea Soul's inspired 'Home'.

Review: Monty Luke's Nightdubbing project on Rekids was designed to showcase the Black Catalogue boss's deep love of dub-infused house and techno. This 13-track album combines previously unheard cuts with nine tracks previously showcased across a pair of EPs of the same name. It's a fantastic set all told, with highlights including the smacked-out electro-dub headiness of opener '40 Acres and a Terrabyte', the extra-percussive deep dub-house hypnotism of 'Bob Molly', the after-hours friendly minimalism of 'Star Storms', the Detroit-goes-dub techno pulse of 'New World/Old Future', the classic dub techno warmth of 'Dark Paradise', and the dub-wise deep house dreaminess of 'Avantgarde Dancehall'. Throw in a handful of tidy ambient and digital dub tracks, and you have a genuinely superb long-player.

Review: Ed Upton has long been one of British dance music's most prolific producers, with his latest album on Hypercolour - the typically vibrant Spiral Dance - marking his 24th full-length excursion as DMX Krew since 1996. Its' 13 tracks are typically vivid, inventive and entertaining, with the Bedford-born producer rushing between intergalactic electro ('Always Hats'), sub-heavy UK techno futurism (the bleep-influenced 'Bathtime Bobby'), house-tempo dancefloor IDM ('Spiral Dance'), Spacetime Continuum style ambient techno (the chill-out room friendly 'Back To '92'), synth-laden analogue cheeriness ('Is This Normal'), heady beat-free soundscapes ('Hammer Slowly Forming'), early Autechre style electronica ('Ankle Grinder') and sweaty acid house ('FM Assembly').

Review: Volume 7 in the series but for once we can't really say "you should know what to expect by now" because what this compilation really goes to show is just what an eclectic and diverse camp the long-running Manchester label has become, with tracks on 'Paper Cuts #7' ranging from the near-ambient Balearica of Aniso Tropics' opener 'Apricot Memorex' to the self-explanatory synth-y stylings of La Guardia de la Luz's 'Trance Aleman de los 90s' via the uptempo strut of Jahn Solo's 'Disco'. So all we can really do is point you in the direction of some standout cuts, which for this reviewer would include D.S.D's luscious 'Just Can't Stop' and Benny Pitcher's 'Transatlantic Motion', which is like a little musical nod to the days when Paper comps were called 'Splinter'.

Review: Rare Wiri bring us three new rubs of the tracks that made up German nu-disco regular Andy Bach's 'If You Leave' EP, released in November last year. Romanto's take on 'Come On Now' strips away the deep house elements and transforms it into a hazy summer nu-disco jam, Stephane Deschezeaux's Organic Remix of 'Dimesions' injects a little more funk and soul into what was quite a trippy, Balearic-leaning original, before 'If You Leave' - a fairly 'accessible' and pop-oriented nu-disco cut in its original form - gets handed over to label boss Rayko, whose rework gives it a deeper, more underground kinda feel.

Review: Last time we heard from Toy Tonics boss Kapote (real name Matthias Modica), he was offering up a updated and reworked version of his 2019 debut album, What It Is. 'Electric Slide', his latest EP, showcases his first all-new original solo music for almost five years. Our pick of the bunch is energetic opener 'The Party', a percussion rich romp rich in heady party atmos, densely layered drums, addictive electric piano hooks and a propulsive bassline. Naturally, there's plenty to set the pulse racing elsewhere across the EP, from the subtly proto house-influenced, hands-in-the-air joy of 'The See Me' and the thickset deep disco house flex of 'The Come On', to the kaleidoscopic nu-disco elasticity of 'The Slide'.

Review: Constant Sound is back with more of its constantly good sonics, this time from Dennis Quin who offers up a potent blend of raw minimal, tech and house. 'My Belief' is the sort of cut to get clubs marching as one to the jacked-up drums and whirring synth motifs. 'Hear Dis' has plenty of infectious garage skip to it and 'Eighty Four' layers up slick percussion with bumping drum funk and some nice exotic vocal samples. There will be an all-out party whenever 'Call For House' gets dropped with its wild synth lines and yelling vocals perfect for amping up the crowd.

Review: Following last year's Half Full release, Hurdslenk returns to Hardgroove. Outside gets off to an exciting start thanks to "Futures". Centred on a throbbing bass and steely hi hats, this pulsating peak-time track is sure to stand out from the crowd. "Jugular" is more visceral. With a dense rhythm at is core, it sees Hurdslenk weave in layers of rasping percussion and intense filters. "Collect" marks a departure for the Hardgroove sound. Its stripped back, jacking sound sounds like Hurdslenk's take on early 00s minimal house. It's only a brief divergence though. "False Pretence" is led by a frenetic rolling groove, while the use of dramatic chords and a stuttering vocal sample will set it apart from most hard-edged techno.

Review: As always, the Time Is Now banner is riding high with this top quality six track collection from Nitework providing all the energy a dancefloor needs. We open up with the old school vocal & chord combinations of 'Desire', before the choppy vocal melodic grooves of 'Be There' and colliding percussive underbellies of 'This Ain't Love' take the lead role. Next, a more stripped back outing as 'Lose Control' gives us a moogy drift of a bassline to play with, with the glittering synth work of 'All Night' then arriving for an additional punch of nostalgia. Finally, 'Falling' gives us a killer closer, rounding off this top quality collection with more vocal chopping magic.

Review: Four typically solid contemporary funk jams here from Sound Exhibitions regular Funk Windows, coming just two weeks after his/her/their last release, the 'Africa Funk' EP. This time out, the Afro stylings are put on a back burner; instead you get the slow-building title cut (which would make a fine set-opener), 'Roller Night' which has a slightly more wonked-out/off-kilter feel, and then 'Bisca' and 'Low Down', both of which up the jazz ante somewhat, the former rocking some fine sax and a cut-up, chipmunk-y vocal while the latter has a similar MO but busts out the flutes. The EP as a whole is a headnodder's delight.

Review: Back in the late 1990s, German producers Jorge Henze and Jerome Isma-Ae released a string of now sought-after 12-inch singles as ACME. 'Soul of Life', from 1998, is one of their most in-demand EPs - hence this belated digital reissue. What makes the three-track collection so unique is its incorporation of speed garage (as it was then called) elements alongside contemporaneous house and tech-house sounds. This hybrid sound is best exemplified by the skipping, dubby and glassy-eyed 'Soul of Life I', though the more melodious, deep house influenced 'Soul of Life II' - all saucer-eyed pads, tactile organ riffs and smooth grooves - is almost as impressive. 'Soul of Life III', the EP's final variation, opts for a Grant Nelson style late '90s 4/4 UK garage flex.

Review: Brazil's Hugo Doche returns to East London-based label The Disco Express with three fresh slices of contemporary disco/disco-house. 'Hit The Tracks' features a very pop-oriented vocal from Sansy but also sports some excellent sax work, the Kria McKenzie-sporting 'This Feeling' has something of the lounge-y vibe of late 70s Brazilian disco but also comes accompanied by a significantly more house-ified remix from Birdee that for this reviewer is the standout track on the EP, while finally 'Dance' features Carla Sceno on mic duties and rocks crisp 4/4s and a fat funk bassline.

Review: Laurent Garnier and Scan X's label does a great job in showcasing emerging and established talent, and this split release is no exception. The brilliantly named Return Of The Luddites deliver the raw electro-techno of "Scream Into The Darkness". In stark contrast, Detroit techno-inspired tracks also loom large, courtesy of Skatman's string-filled "Tribute To A Dancefloor" and Squal G's more ominous "Waiting 4U". Mirroring Garnier's own wide-ranging tastes, the release also features the call and response hip-hop/drum'n'bass crossover of Joaquim Plossu, Salem Focus and Phoebe Train's "Theory Of The Tide". Taking the tempo down, Yes Basketball's "Next" is a slowed down, bugged out beatsy track.

Review: To mark the fiftieth release on his label, Moustache boss David Vunk teams up with Tafkamp. Inspired by Chicago house and electro, this three-tracker has a definite dance floor focus. "The Jacker" is a relentless percussive workout. Powered by rolling snares and featuring repetitive vocal loops, it's in the same vein as the output on Crème Organization's Jak offshoot. "Acid Party" has a more club techno focus, but even here, Vunk and Tafkamp populate its robust groove with spiralling acid lines. The sound of the 303 is also audible on "Interzone" - on this occasion, it unravels over an old school electro rhythm as the pair reach for the heights again.

The Primetime Mix stays true to the original's funky spirit, featuring a delicious bassline and pulsating synths that weave through the soundscape. 'Watch The Bass' kicks off the EP with a series of big choppy breaks and woozy horns. Opening up with 'Back To Back Special', a murky, sublow bubbler jam-packed with nostalgic drum chops and unique bass design, followed by the more brightened chord progressions of 'Out To The Private Number' and moog-driven subs slides of 'Slew', again, combining old school with originality in real style. 'Open Fire' takes the lead with an icy sense of timeless futurism that's underpinned with a rudeboy swing in the bass department. Sitting somewhere between Breakage and C4C, this is one of those bubblers that really hits a lot of spots. Review: Award-nominated British producers Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala, better known as Camelphat, showcase yet more growth since their last album Spiritual Milk that was filled with emotive lyrics, serene ambient sounds, and infectious basslines. This remix album however opens with a Fideles mix that gets drummy and percussive and very reminiscent to Plastikman's legendary "Spastilk". Oostil throws down an EDM inspired tech house banger mix of "In Your Eyes", while Tigerblind looks to old school rave and hardcore in its remix of "Compute". Lastly Dorian Kraft goes deep and progressive in his mix to "Embers". Keep chewing the Camelphat.

Review: New York's Sub-Urban Records takes us on a journey of soulful house with the "Forever (Michael Gray Remix)" by Key To Life featuring Sabrina Johnston. Gray's signature touch is evident throughout. The remix takes the original's foundation and builds upon it with a deeper, groovier bassline. House heads will appreciate the subtle yet infectious percussive elements that propel the track forward. Sabrina Johnston's vocals remain the centerpiece, soaring effortlessly above the music. This remix is a perfect example of soulful house excellence. It stays true to the original's sentiment while offering a fresh, club-ready interpretation.

Review: Anthem alert! Pioneer jungle Queen DJ Rap lays down the absolute law on this booming sing-along link-up with David Boomah. Huge basses, addictive riff, chiselled steppy beats and a scorchio vocal, this one totally lives up to its name with dramatic and theatrical effect and a strong sense of catharsis in Boomah's message. Need variations for extra mixing creativity? Check for the instrumental dub versions and let yourself go in the mix!

Review: Australian artist Ben Smith, known by his stage name Temple, is bringing a fresh sound to the music scene. His upcoming EP, "Who You Are," blends the classic vibes of disco with the futuristic energy of techno. This debut release marks the launch of Temple Musiq, Smith's own record label dedicated to his musical creations. The headline attraction is undoubtedly title track 'Who You Are' (featuring Quartz Pistol), an acid-fired, cowbell-laden fusion of cheery nu-disco and nostalgic house sounds with added breathy female vocals. Prins Thomas remixes, rolling out the warehouse-ready elements (including Temple's trippy acid lines) before introducing a maelstrom of synth lines and spiralling electronics later on. Elsewhere, 'Wait For Love' joins the dots between mid-80s NYC proto-house and Maurice Fulton's Syclops project, while 'The Tetra' is a spacey, sax-sporting slab of nu-disco chug tailor-made for sunset and sunrise.

Review: Acid house in sound but punk in nature, the title of Paranoid London's new album is a reference to "the cavalcade of c***s we find ourselves surrounded by". However, while there is despair there is also hope, and this long player is testament to the power of underground music. Arseholes...also demonstrates the importance of collaboration. Bobby Gillespie croons his way through the gentle tones of "People (Ah Yeah)". At the other end of the sonic spectrum, Joe Love and DJ Genesis feature on the gnarly, 303-led grooves of "Love One Self" and "Up Is Down" respectively. Somewhere between these polar opposites sits the evocative Chicago house sound of "Start To Fade" with Josh Caffe and Mutado Pintado's sonorous vocals on the pulsating "The Motion". Paranoid London proves yet again that when confronted by a***holes, music really is the only answer.

Review: Mikrodot has arrived in serious style with this latest four track EP, as expected, delivering naught but top quality dubstep music to the FatKidOnFire imprint. We open up in a slightly softer zone as 'Girl From Twin Cities' gives us a smokey soundscape, dripping in beautiful pad designs and subtle arpeggios, before lethal LFO grinds are unleashed on 'Ember'. Next, 'Enlightenment' fuses drifting, organic drum crunches with subtle subs to match, before the more exploratory bass designs and stripped back drum arrangements of 'Repressed'; give us a tasty closing act.

Spring Jazz Session
Spring Jazz Session - (5:26) 119 BPM
Review: A single-tracker here from Russian DJ/producer Anton Bogomolov, better known as Scruscru, coming as ever on his own Scruniversal label. A title like 'Spring Jazz Session' is always gonna be fairly evocative, so you might think you have a pretty good idea what to expect here already... and you'd be pretty much right. Opening with tinkling keys over gentle percussion before introducing a walking bassline and, eventually, an understated 4/4 kick, this mellow, summery groove with its lead flute line is definitely one for afternoon and poolside sessions rather than Saturday night dancefloor abandon - but served on a good system at the right time, it'll sound just heavenly.
